1. Not just “refactor”, but set up ecosystem to REPRODUCE. Analyze side effects (break out the dev tools or proxy tools, etc.).

2. A/B with system under test to refactor candidate.

3. Documentation archaeology - is it by design or a defect.

@JohnYani @david_nix @MarkVillacampa I don’t agree. Containers on desktop aren’t about infra—they’re for consistency. They mirror CI/CD, isolate deps, and cut setup time. I am required to use laptops from clients, so I don’t run native. VM overhead is minor—far better than managing full VMs.

Reasons:

1. Keeps my base system light
2. Lighter, faster than full VMs
3. IaC for team consistency, versioning
4. Match local dev with CI/CD environments
5. Run full stacks locally w/ real services
6. Isolate dependencies, clean up easily

@UK_Daniel_Card I never thought I would say I wish iOS was more like Windows Vista. You could turn off Aero for a flat UI in 2006 (and save memory, CPU).

Can't do that in iOS/iPadOS today.

@KnightHighland Remember Windows Aero? Was cool for 5 minutes and then people had to look at it all day and then realized it took processor time.

At least Microsoft let you turn Aero off. I don’t see an off switch for Apple Glass.
