Trabalhei no Paypal literalmente desenhando checkouts para os maiores ecommerces e marcas no Brasil.

Foram centenas deles, não tenho nem um número para precisar, eis um pouco do que aprendi:

1. No checkout menos é mais, cada input extra é menos conversão, peça o MÍNIMO que puder.

2. Checkout é o momento onde a maior parte dos drops acontecem (cerca de 70%), qualquer surpresa negativa nova é motivo para cancelar.

- Frete caro? Abandona
- Pagou frete? Abandona
- Taxa de serviço? Abandona
- Cobrou embalagem? Abandona tb.

Qualquer realzinho a mais deve estar embutido no produto, nunca em taxa extra escondida.

3. Mostre sua segurança, parece bobo, mas até ícone de cadeado escrito "compra segura" aumenta conversão.

4 . Se você tiver um desconto extra mostre no carrinho, essa ancoragem pode jogar a seu favor.

5. CNPJ ajuda a converter mais, o simples dado estar ali mostra uma empresa real para muita gente.

6. Quando possível use fotos do produto, mesmo se ele for digital, use sua imaginação.

7. Barreira e carga cognitiva são dois conceitos importantes, divida o que for possível

8. Quando no mobile use inputs apropriados (Ex: Teclado numérico para inserir telefone).

9. Sim, você pode meter prova social no checkout e dá diferença.

10. Teste, essa é uma página como outra qualquer e diferentes ICPs terão diferentes percepções de risco.
