The band
The band was established as Davidson's Mains & District in 2012, & in 2018 the Grade 4A and Novice Juvenile Pipe Bands joined forces as the rebranded RHPB. We are based in North Edinburgh & are affiliated with The Royal High School, however membership is open to all /5
The new pipe major will have the opportunity to build a strong team around them, with the flexibility to appoint their own leading drummer. The pipe major will be supported going forward by the band committee. /4
We are looking for someone who is passionate about continuing the inclusive ethos of the band. RHPB has always been a place for young people to feel welcome and have fun, and we are seeking a pipe major who wishes to maintain this supportive environment. /3
The pipe major will be responsible for running weekly band practices, with the option to add another weekly session. They must also be committed to leading the band in future opportunities, including performances and competitions. /2
The band had the honour of leading the Davidson’s Mains Armistice Parade along Main Street on Sunday, Pipe Sergeant Izzy Webster played a beautiful lament as the wreaths were laid. This was a first for the band, a tradition we hope to continue for years to come. @Royal_High_Sch
