"Does God give you a blessing and add sorrow to it?" — Gov. Siminalayi Fubara
Many people are yet to grasp the full political reality of what transpired in Rivers State and how governance in the state was severely destabilized through Federal Govt interference. A largely one-sided narrative has shaped public perception, often to the detriment of the state and its people.
The truth is that the political crisis was not accidental but a carefully engineered power struggle driven by succession control and dominance over the state’s political architecture. Nyesom Wike weaponized the conflict to denigrate Ijaw in the media and consolidate political influence around the Ikwerre people.
Within this turbulence, Governor Fubara appeared caught in a highly orchestrated political web, where much of his action reflected strategic self-preservation rather than aggression. Yet, despite intense pressure, he has projected remarkable composure, resilience, and calm leadership.
For many Rivers people, Gov. Sim Fubara represents humility, restraint, and a leadership style grounded in peace and public welfare.

The National Leader of the NDC must clearly state whether he intends to act as the leader of the party or as its chairman. Leadership demands consistency, fairness, and respect for agreements.
Repeatedly disregarding established understandings while claiming to champion the party's interests sends the wrong message to members and supporters.
Party tickets should be awarded to individuals who have invested their time, resources, and energy in building the party from the grassroots level.
The Bomadi Federal Constituency ticket must not become a reward for family connections or proximity to influential figures at the National Secretariat.
Political
representation should be based on credibility, grassroots acceptance, and proven commitment to the party.
The people will resist any attempt to impose candidates who were never part of the original plan and who lack genuine support among party members. Internal democracy must be respected, and the will of the grassroots must prevail.
