The Income Tax increase on savings, dividends and property income to rise by 2% across all bands seems sailing very close to a manifesto breach. It is very broad based where even basic rate taxpayers will be hit.
Have an additional shares allowance but it is not helpful to banks building societies and voters by reducing the cash ISA allowance. It’s a vote loser.
https://t.co/EJfOTQzwQx Where a property ceases to be a PPR due to divorce then the SDLT surcharge is not applicable on the acquisition of another property. We are only talking about the surcharge here. But the government should not vilify others for tax planning
@Jacob_Rees_Mogg Among the secrecy was £7bn covertly kept aside for this debacle. Meaning £6bn is now available to the HMT to reduce any potential tax increases. Or was there no fiscal accountability either https://t.co/8bZ9H9wuoJ UK government auditor questions MoD disclosures Afghan data leak
Sensible decision together with private sector DB pensions being pushed to invest in UK securities should ideally be dropped but at least the consultation for both should include taxpayers
Reeves puts reform of UK cash ISAs on hold after backlash https://t.co/s8B9EeTHd1 via @ft
@DanielPriestley We should not introduce a tax which draws revenue from standing assets. Many who will be impacted are cash poor. Those who say we could roll up the tax until the assets are disposed of are not recognising that the government needs the revenue now not in several years time
Rachel Reeves set to cut cash Isa allowance https://t.co/oYFIRGcwul via @ft
The ISA cash allowance should not be reduced. It attracts people to save and institutions to generate liquidity to invest. Another uturn incoming. It didn't have to be this way, again
The government needs to move very rapidly to stop the employment drain of this tax policy. The FT editorial is balanced and correct and needs to be actioned

@ecoandi@vicderbyshire Thank you. I was wondering what the situation would be where one earned above £35k and the other below. Could the lower earner be nominated to receive it entirely
@winterfuelpayments Without seeing the draft legislation I can't be sure, but the release says no need to aggregate income. Does this mean the allowance can go to a partner with income below £35K without tax. Clarity would be good https://t.co/WAEQKwO0M6
Government should stop politicising people's life savings. It is seeking to direct investment in ISAs and Pensions. Pension funds trustees should not be treated like members of the politburo

Currently the cash ISAs are invested across a wide spectrum of businesses and this should not be curtailed thinking the grass is greener on the other side. Rachel Reeves prepares to launch Isa review https://t.co/KlTSa00wPf via @ft
@KemiBadenoch Well done to the UK in getting rid of many of the 2 April tariffs. Clearly a very good set of achievements which will be built upon such as the mitigation of the potential film industry tariff aired by the US 5 May. Very glowing presidential post https://t.co/vFRO5todE5
Kemi Badenoch agreed to trade deal tax arrangement say Indian officials https://t.co/2dwAtsYeZy via @financialtimes It would be interesting to have some clarification of who knew what and when. In any case it seems like a good deal for the UK and India
