I’d far rather see the push for Scottish independence fail on the basis of factual & respectful debate around the economy, trade, currency, culture, security, kinship, historical ties etc, than a lack of trust and confidence in our parliament & legal system.

I didn’t vote for it, but I’m coming round to the idea that the UK might just do better outside the EU. It’s just one metric, but would anyone like to wager (large or small) that the UK’s annual GDP growth rate will average 50bps higher than the EU’s over the next decade?

Scottish politics continues to confound. Much as I wish there was greater scrutiny of, and more accountability within the Scottish government, it seems to me that they’ve got things broadly right with these exam results. Yet all and sundry are going apeshit!?!

A few thousand Scots are concerned enough to break lockdown to protest against racism. Why aren’t there tens of thousands marching against the greater problem of sectarianism, and hundreds of thousands taking to the streets against the lack of progress reopening schools? @theSNP
