Your corporate doublespeak doesn’t erase reality, @PenguinIndia.
FACTS YOUR STATEMENT IGNORES:
1️⃣ Copyright Act, 1957, Section 3: “Publication means making a work available to the public by issue of copies”
You issued copies. Bookstores received HUNDREDS. That’s publication under Indian law.
2️⃣ Gen Naravane tweeted Dec 2023: “My book is available now”
Not “announced.” Not “scheduled.” AVAILABLE.
3️⃣ Physical hardbound copies exist:
• Found in Delhi bookstores (before you recalled them)
• Displayed in Parliament
• Distributed widely
4️⃣ Pre-orders taken: You accepted payment for a product you now claim “doesn’t exist.”
👉 LEGAL QUESTION: If you never published, did you commit consumer fraud by taking money for a non-existent product?
You can’t have it both ways. Either:
(a) You published and are lying now, OR
(b) You defrauded customers in 2023
Your “clarity and transparency” statement is neither clear nor transparent. It’s legal gymnastics to avoid admitting you withdrew a published book under government pressure.
The Indian Copyright Act doesn’t recognize “unpublishing.” Once copies are issued to the public, it’s published. Period.
You owe Gen Naravane an apology. And the nation an explanation.

My detailed take..:
In the matter concerning the dismissal of an Indian soldier for declining to enter or worship within the inner sanctum sanctorum of a Hindu temple situated in his military unit, the circumstances raise profound constitutional, ethical, and human-rights questions. ⚖️🇮🇳
This is a totally unacceptable trend from the Courts and military and is to be condemned at the highest levels. I didn't know the Army and the Government have stooped to such levels, and it's deeply concerning and threatening. There must be justice for the soldier, and he must be reinstated in the army with full restoration of his rights and fees.
It is undisputed that India’s constitutional framework promises secularism as a guiding principle — Articles 14, 21, 25 and 26 of the Constitution of India collectively protect equality before the law, personal liberty, and freedom of conscience and religion. The expectation placed upon any serving soldier to participate in ritual worship of a particular faith may reasonably be viewed as inconsistent with these constitutional guarantees, if not contrary to the “unity in diversity” ethos that the Republic has long proclaimed.
The soldier in question, raised in the Christian faith, adhered to a doctrinal tradition that forbids bowing before idols or images. As the Scripture states:
“You shall have no other gods before Me… You shall not bow down to them nor serve them.”
— Exodus 20:3–5 ✝️
His refusal was therefore an act grounded in sincere religious conviction, not insubordination.
It is also well-acknowledged that certain Hindu temples — including the temples of Tirupati and several temples in Kerala and other regions — maintain restrictions on entry for non-Hindus. This cultural reality makes it particularly striking that a non-Hindu soldier could face adverse consequences for declining participation in Hindu ritual practice within a military environment.
Hindu thought itself teaches respect for the integrity of one’s own spiritual path. The Bhagavad Gita states:
“Better is one’s own duty, though devoid of merit, than the duty of another well performed.”
— Gita 3:35 🕉️
This principle underscores that spiritual authenticity should not be coerced.
From a military standpoint, the Armed Forces traditionally uphold the creed:
“Service before self. Integrity above all.” 🇮🇳🪖
Discipline, honour, and performance — NOT compliance with religious rituals — form the legitimate basis of military evaluation. The record reportedly reflects that the soldier’s performance of duty was exemplary and consistently commended.
Yet, despite these considerations, the soldier’s dismissal was upheld by both the appeals Courts of Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court of India. How can we trust our Courts, esp. when the CJI himself is involved with such horrendous judgements? While the Courts may have relied on procedural or service-law interpretations, the broader constitutional questions remain: Can a secular Army require acts of worship? Can religious conformity be implied as a condition of service? Where are we headed? Is Indian Army a Hindu-only Unit? Since when? Have they highlighted this at the time of appointment? Is this what the Indian Military has degraded to? We need answers.
Such outcomes may generate public concern regarding the safeguarding of secularism within State institutions. They may also raise alarm about potential undue pressure on minority-faith soldiers to conform to majority religious practices — an issue that could be interpreted as inconsistent with the fundamental constitutional promise that “the State shall NOT DISCRIMINATE on the ground of religion.”
The maxim from the Mahābhārata reminds us:
“Dharma protects those who protect dharma.” 🌼
Justice must therefore not only be done but be seen to be done. Hinduism is great, but the modern fellows who interpret them have failed the true spirit of Hinduism.
It is deeply distressing to many observers that a soldier — whose sole deviation was adherence to personal faith — could be removed from service rather than accommodated in accordance with secular constitutional values. The matter calls for careful reassessment, institutional sensitivity, and renewed commitment to religious neutrality within the Armed Forces. If this continues, we will fail before an actual war happens. The soldier morale remains LOST. He has no hope in the Appeals.
In light of these principles, it is respectfully submitted that equitable relief, including reinstatement with restoration of service benefits, may be warranted to uphold the constitutional vision of a plural, inclusive India. 🇮🇳✨
Can't wrap my head around this. A Goa teacher apparently had a dream about an ayurvedic formula which ''cures'' COVID-19 and AYUSH Minister met him, said formula will be sent for scientific check. Please tell me this is a joke.
When lsraeI bombed the first hospital in Gaza, the world wouldn’t believe it and Israel blamed a misfired rocket from Hamas.
lsraeI has now destroyed all 36 hospitals in Gaza including its largest, the al-Shifa Hospital.
They have no right to complain.

How many of you still remember the infamous 'Snoopgate' when Modi-Amit Shah were caught illegally spying on a girl using the Gujrat state machinaries? The claim was later accepted by BJP.

THE REAL TAJ MAHAL STILL STANDS BECAUSE THE REAL SHAHJAHAN WAS NOT ON 40% COMMISSION. I’ve been attacked mercilessly by @BJP4Goa for exposing the massive irregularities in the renovation of our prestigious Kala Academy. Today, I stand vindicated. The grand corruption #Goa’s Shahjahans are perpetrating will eventually lead to the destruction of Goa. What excuse does the @GovtofGoa have now? Will the minister who was defending this disaster quit and hand over charge to someone clean and competent before the whole building collapses? * This pic is inspite of the fact that security has kept the crumbled Kala Academy out of bounds for media and people
