We're grateful to share that Orygen Global has been selected as a grantee of the ICONIQ Impact Youth Mental Wellbeing Co-Lab.
The grant has enabled the expansion of the ASEAN-Pacific Youth Mental Health Fellowship, which is open for applications now: https://t.co/DKkzIVOaM9

This video explains some of the work we are doing at Orygen to work out how best to help young people with substance use problems. So grateful for my team, and that I get to do such meaningful and important work.
There’s zero evidence for that statement if indeed it was made. See our lancet commission on youth MH and the one by other experts on suicidal behaviour and self harm just published. Social media is harmful but also beneficial. It just needs to be strictly regulated.

TLDR—You don’t need your own big data to make robust & generalizable brain-based behavioural predictions, especially for cognition. Methods like meta-matching (https://t.co/qQFHLCJRDK) are effective across diverse small clinical samples.
If you have a keen interest in youth mental health / early intervention, @orygen_aus is the place to be.
Every day, I'm surrounded by fellow researchers who represent some of the most brilliant minds, passionate souls, and (most importantly imo) kindest hearts in the field. 💕
Unimelb Open Day: Medical Research Institutes.
Orygen is a great place if you are considering pursuing a research career in psychiatry #orygen#phd#research
In the six years I've been living in Aus, I've had many people ask me about racial politics in Malaysia.
Sharing this paper by Prof. Chin for those who wish to know more than I feel confident speaking to. It explains the history of this issue with such an accessible eloquence.
I am surprised by this award. It shows there is interest in what is happening in Malaysia... The Malaysian Indians faced even more discrimination because of their smaller number and lack of economic power.

Hi all, I'm currently seeking a casual Consumer Research Assistant for a project exploring consumer participation in mental health curricula design, delivery, and evaluation. Applications close 26/4 https://t.co/szlSKO3lzP
Excited to share this new resource my team and I have developed for people working in youth mental health services - there’s huge potential for more mental health and wellbeing promotion work at the community level!
Congratulations to three highly deserving professors! There is now NO gender gap at the professor level at @orygen_aus! There is at lower levels, but this favours women! So proud to work for this organization
Special and inspiring to hear all the research going on @orygen_aus at the annual research retreat! @EoinKillackey shares encouragement and pride with the ever growing bunch of super passionate and talented researchers. @PatMcGorry you must be proud!
As a REN who previously handled rentals, my worst text reply from another REN is “owner dont want black”. I replied saying client is Indian Malaysian. Not african. (assuming they dont want foreigners/Africans etc even then not cool right) and he said no anyone black. Indian also.
So there you go. I don’t do rentals nowadays due to lots of reasons but dealing with racist landlords was one of it. It’s truly disgusting how deep the racism lies.
To every Malaysian Indian who sees this, quote with your experience trying to rent a house/room. I'll start.
As of today, I contacted about 300 agents and landlords who denied me simply because I'm Indian. I'm not religious. Every person who rejected my request despite me having good credit score and reputation for hygiene, was unfortunately, a Malaysian Chinese.
Its okay if you don't quote my tweet. This isn't about the engagement. You can quote the individual I quoted if that's what you prefer. Share your experience.
