The older I get the more I realize that you should only optimize for money and status to a certain degree before moving on to optimize for having more time to do what you want.
A periodic reminder that the vast majority of metrics are our destruction, not our salvation. Let's start with Deming:

Beyond a certain level in your career, there is no permanent solution to a lack of time. The best way to cope with this new reality is to be extremely clear on the 1-2 things you must focus on doing really well in a given day, given week, given month (and actually get them done).
Most of UX isn't about opening up Figma.
It's about the discovery you do to understand the problem. It's about data analysis, user research, and other interviews.
Spend less time in Figma, and more time analyzing the problem. You'll move faster.

PM power exercise:
Write down every user motivation you address with your product on a sticky note (high-level needs & wants).
Do the same with your product goals (high-level objectives & your motivation as PM).
Look for overlaps, bc those describe the purpose of your product.
Intrigued, I asked him to say more. He replied, “Well, while there are some things that are clearly legal/not legal, in our work, that category is tiny. The vast majority of contentious debates are about assessing & managing risk. My job is to give context & advice on that risk”.
2) Less approver, more advisor
Early in my PM career, one of my Legal partners at Google shared an important view on his role. He said, “Most teams come to me for Legal approval: will you approve this or that? They don’t understand that I am more of an advisor than an approver”.
