In 1907, Bhikaji Cama unfurled the first version of the Indian national flag in Stuttgart, Germany, rallying international support for India’s freedom. Her bold act asked the world to recognize our struggle—today, who stands with the same fervor against the struggles faced by our women?

At 73, Matangini Hazra was leading a procession during the Quit India Movement when she was shot by the British, all the while holding the Indian flag high. She died for our freedom; today, where is the nation’s outrage when women are violated on our streets by our own?

In 1942, at just 22, Usha Mehta set up the Congress Radio, a secret station that broadcasted uncensored news to the masses. She risked everything to make the truth heard—yet, in today’s India, the truth about violence against women is too often met with silence.

At only 17, Kanaklata Barua was shot dead while leading a procession to hoist the Indian flag during the Quit India Movement. She gave her life to see our flag fly free—today, our flag flies, but the dignity of our women is too often trampled upon with impunity.

These women fought for the nation's freedom over their life. Now, the least we can do with the gift they have given us is honor their legacy and respect the women of your country.🙏🇮🇳
