@TeacherToolkit I wanted to call him a cretin, but it would be a compliment. He’s never cared for teachers or enabled them to teacher better. He won’t start caring now either!
Is it possible that sitting in 5 hours of meetings in one day (in addition to your typical teaching, collaboration, responding to mails etc) CSM make you stupider? I think it’s an experiment that someone has put me into without my consent!
Given that 275+ health/care workers & 52 transport workers have died with COVID-19, why is anyone angry with teachers who are worried about getting it?
Especially as we still don’t know how easily kids can transmit it?
I completely empathise with their very real concerns.
When I was very naive, I was working in the automotive industry. My boss left, wasn’t replaced. I did the job for 6 months. 6 months came and went. I did it for a year... I never thought I’d be taken advantage of in schools. Educational professionals are seen as a “soft touch”.
I truly want schools to return & workers to go back to work, that is why the Government MUST set up safe & efficient test, track and trace scheme that has the trust of parents and workers alike. That is what will get our economy and society back. Shouting at teachers not so much
My colleague just went to the bathroom during our #teams call. She left her camera (and audio) on. Covid is bringing us closer together thanks to technology.
@microsoftitalia@MicrosoftEDU As mentioned. Great updates as mentioned. Any chance of some assessment for learning #afl tools? Thumbs up, thumbs down, star ratings from students etc for quick feedback or voting on concepts?
@MicrosoftEDU@microsoftitalia grazie! 9 cameras and hand up are super for teachers everywhere. Thank you! 🙏 Next step break - break-out rooms or a feature to allow classes to talk, discuss and collaborate easily and then return to class.
@HMRCgovuk After trying the webchat function and repeated calls, there is no way to contact to speak to someone urgently. Is it possible to arrange? When calling I’m repeatedly cut off after the “you may have to wait longer than normal” message. Thanks
@HeyMissSmith Oh. I’ve heard this suggested... and fo make it worse. To do so over 6 days. People making decisions do not understand teaching or children!
How would your school/college/university colleagues react if they were asked (told) to do three weeks of online training during their summer holiday? Considering they’ve all been working full time online since February as it is.
@AaronEarlyYears @KarenMBoardman I think there’s finally some good leadership here. Conte is more effective of late, the Milan Mayor (Sala) is very good. The governor of Lombardy is a joke (imagine a drunk UKIP). The problem is the leadership of schools!
I’m hearing rumors of 6 day teaching weeks if emergency teaching is in place next academic year. As if teacher retention wasn’t bad enough. As used in some parts of Germany. Teachers there are well respected and well paid! Let’s see if that’s the case elsewhere!
