After 17 years, yesterday’s restart to India for SAS didn’t quite go to plan. The aircraft departed four hours late for Mumbai and was then forced to turn back to Copenhagen after 4 hours in the air due to lack of final approvals from Indian authorities.
Just another ordinary day in Guwahati.
You leave for work on time, only to be delayed because a few green buses decide the entire road is their personal bus stop.
The video says it all: more than 6 buses at one bus stop, stopping wherever they please, blocking traffic to pick up passengers, with little regard for rules or the inconvenience caused to everyone else. And then we wonder why traffic never improves.
This has become so common that people have stopped questioning it.

The Assam Tribune is NOT FOR SALE
Quite remarkable, really, how a single unverified Facebook post managed to become “breaking news” for so many people and media portals overnight.
Since May 24, claims about The Assam Tribune allegedly being sold to Gautam Adani for Rs 420 crores have been circulating widely, all stemming from one Facebook post by Gyanen Chakraborty. From there, the rumour was amplified by prominent personalities and even media outlets, many of whom apparently felt verification was an unnecessary formality.
No official confirmation. No credible source. No due diligence. Just pure confidence and a share button.
It took 88 years to build the trust and legacy of The Assam Tribune — from Radha Govinda Baruah to the current generation, the family has worked tirelessly for the people of the region, often at the cost of their own personal lives, to uphold the values and credibility of this institution.
For nearly nine decades, The Assam Tribune has remained committed to preserving the trust of its readers, and it will continue to do so in the years ahead.
In an era where everyone claims to value journalism and fact-checking, it’s fascinating to see how quickly baseless speculation can be repackaged as “news” simply because it trends online.
Maybe next time, before turning rumours into headlines and WhatsApp University into a newsroom, try verifying facts first. It might sound old-fashioned, but that’s usually how credible journalism works.
P.S. — Strict legal action will be initiated against anyone involved in creating, spreading, or amplifying such baseless and defamatory allegations.

🚨India loses all spots in world's top 100 companies as equity crash bites
For the first time in years, not a single Indian company figures among the world's top 100 listed firms by market capitalisation , a measure of how deeply and relentlessly the selloff in domestic equities has cut.
Reliance Industries, the country's most valued firm, has slipped to around 106th globally from 57th at the start of 2025 and 73rd at the start of 2026. HDFC Bank, India's most valued lender, now ranks 190th, down from 97th at the start of 2025.
Bharti Airtel stands at 202nd, falling from 164th at the start of 2026. ICICI Bank and State Bank of India have dropped to 274th and 276th respectively, from 215th and 231st at the start of 2026.
The decline has been sharpest among India's top technology stocks. TCS, the country's largest software exporter, has seen the steepest fall, with its global rank dropping to 314th from 84th at the start of 2025 and 171st at the start of 2026.
Infosys, India's second largest IT firm, now ranks 590th, down from 198th at the start of 2025 and 330th at the start of 2026. ITC has slipped to 702nd from 296th and 466th at the start of 2025 and 2026 respectively.

Media went crazy on so called Nirbhaya alike gangrape case three days back in Delhi. Protests also organized immediately. TV debates started.
But the moment it came out that the case was false, the woman herself went with these men to provide paid sex & fight happened over payment of money - everyone has gone mute.
No outrage on how easy it has become now for some women to falsely claim something as heinous as gangrape
No information yet by @DelhiPolice also if they are planning to take any action against this woman
This is the reason false accusations have become so rampant
What does it take to draw attention to the detail in plain sight without resorting to colourful language? Digipin's resolution is 4 metres. That's the legal limit of a "small" car. Every room in your house has a unique PIN. You know what this means?
🚨 Madhya Pradesh Textbook Corporation’s new Chairman arrived in Bhopal from Ujjain with a massive convoy (>500 vehicles) to assume charge.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister tells citizens and the CM tells ministers: “Save Petrol.” 🤡🤦♂️
The Indian salaried class has been methodically stripped of every single inflation hedge available to it, one budget at a time.
You tried crypto. They slapped a 30% flat tax on gains, allowed no set-off of losses, and added 1% TDS on transfers.
You tried equities. Budget 2024 raised STCG from 15% to 20%, raised LTCG from 10% to 12.5%, increased STT on F&O, and also killed indexation for most other long-term capital gains.
You thought fine, I’ll diversify some savings abroad through LRS. They put 20% TCS on remittances above 10 lakhs for investments abroad.
You tried Sovereign Gold Bonds, because surely a government-issued, government-backed gold hedge would be the one clean instrument they would not mess with. Then Budget 2026 came along and removed the capital gains exemption for secondary market buyers.
And now the final insult.
The Prime Minister has publicly asked you to avoid buying physical gold for a year in the “national interest,” because gold imports use foreign exchange.
So let me get this straight. A middle class wagie earning in depreciating rupees, watching FD rates hover around 6.5% while real life inflation keeps eating his purchasing power, has now been told:
Crypto is taxed like a vice.
Equities are more expensive to hold and exit.
Foreign diversification gets hit with TCS.
SGBs are being wound down and tax-narrowed.
Buying physical gold is now unpatriotic.
Basically, every single exit from rupee depreciation has been systematically curtailed. You are expected to hold your savings in instruments the government controls, at returns the government sets, for a currency the government is rapidly inflating away.
Does this sound like Amrit Kaal to you?
1. Just got off a call with @UnSubtleDesi. I couldn't be happier for her and both of us couldn't help but discuss the harrowing days of post poll violence in West Bengal in 2021. So I am going to share what happened five years ago just so ppl know what happened. #WestBengal2026.
Visa fees should be after visas have been approved, or at least refund the payment upon rejection.
It's only right. If you don't want someone in your country, DON'T TAKE THEIR MONEY.
Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.
NEW: Astronaut Reid Wiseman shares a video of ‘Earthset’ that was taken with his iPhone
“This is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye…” Wiseman said.
This has to be the greatest iPhone video of all time.
The math on this black hole should mass-humble every physicist who thinks we understand gravity.
M87's central black hole is 6.5 billion times the mass of our Sun. It's 38 billion kilometers across. It spins at 80% of the theoretical maximum speed allowed by physics. And it's firing a plasma beam at near light speed that stretches 5,000 light-years into space.
To put 5,000 light-years in perspective: if you started driving at highway speed when the Egyptian pyramids were built, you'd have covered roughly 0.0005 light-years by now. This beam covers ten million times that distance.
The plasma travels in a spiral along a coiled magnetic field. Hubble watched it for 13 years just to confirm the motion pattern. And the beam isn't just decorating empty space. Stars near its path explode twice as often as stars elsewhere in the galaxy. Nobody knows why. The lead researcher at Stanford said they don't understand the mechanism at all.
The black hole eats roughly 90 Earth masses of material per day. The energy output from that feeding process matches the power of the jet itself, somewhere between 10^33 and 10^37 joules per second. The upper end of that range is a number so large it has no human analogy.
Your brain runs on 20 watts. This thing outputs more energy per second than every star in the Milky Way combined. And we photographed it with a telescope in 2019.
🚨Last night, India switched on a reactor.
Here are 9 numbers nobody is talking about:
→ 72 years: Time since Homi Bhabha conceived this plan
→ 22 years: Time to actually build it
→ ₹7,700 crore: Final cost (started at ₹3,492 crore)
→ 500 MW: Power it will generate
→ 2nd: India's global rank only Russia had this before
→ 25%: India's share of world's thorium reserves
→ 400 years: How long those reserves can power India
→ 200+: Indian companies that built it. Zero foreign designs.
→ 3: Countries that tried and quit - USA, Germany, UK
