In 2004, Hal Finney built RPOW: the first proof-of-work money, four years before Bitcoin. It ran on a tamper-proof IBM coprocessor that signed every transfer, so nothing could be double-spent.

We rebuilt it for the browser.

Still centralized. But Bitcoin where it counts: a hard 21,000,000 cap, and difficulty that steps up one bit for every million coins mined. More hashpower, same reward, harder network. Satoshi's rules, in a browser tab.
