As someone in the industry, higher education will look vastly different in 10 years. A lot of the institutions on this list will be forced to close.
D grades will probably be shuttered in 2-5 years. Financial viability is impossible. Enrollments are down, costs are up, deferred maintenance is a nightmare, plummeting international enrollments, etc etc.
The chance to right-size was during COVID. For those that didn’t, it’s a near death sentence.
Micro-credentials and abbreviated programs are the way of the future. The four year degree is done. The music has stopped.
