@polishedsteeltb@TheCinesthetic If you include Superman s marketing budget it actually lost money as it needed 700 million to break even and did less than 650. You just proved my point that people only include marketing when they want a movie to fail. I'm done with this now I know you're a hypocrite.
@polishedsteeltb@TheCinesthetic This is what analysts say. They don't know how the marketing budget is earned back. That was confirmed last year over the success of Superman. Forbes magazine called it a hit with a moderate profit and to do that its marketing budget was not included.
@polishedsteeltb@TheCinesthetic A movie that costs less than 200 million does not need to make that much. The generally accepted number is double the budget. That's not accounting for marketing which no one knows if the movie's gross needs to make that back. A 165 million dollar movie needs 340.
@polishedsteeltb@TheCinesthetic It's very unclear about the cost of Marketing. Some people add it on and some don't. The tie-in deals and merchandise for this movie will probably cover the cost of advertising. As an example Fantastic Four First steps made 170 million from tie-in deals alone.
@cshermanrun@TheCinesthetic That was the version after the Sheriff is the good guy and the one we got. Basically Crowe and Ridley just wanted to do Robln Hood as normal. They just changed the timeline to make it different.
@Rynew02 Actually the worst part are people on social media complaining that the World Cup isn't organized around them. We've had plenty of favourable tournaments, now it's someone else who has one.
@MikeBGameGenie At the end of the day it comes down to how much it makes in the cinema. It's doing awful so it's sadly classified as a flop. If it went straight onto Prime it could have been one of the best streaming movies of all time.
