Now, Class, repeat after me. I will never buy cyclicals at low PEs and record earnings. Say it again. I will never buy cyclicals at low PEs and record earnings.
If Nayara Has 7,000 Outlets and Reliance Has 2,100, Why Stop Them from Selling Ethanol-Free Petrol? ⛽
India is a free and capitalist economy. Let's keep it that way.
Private fuel stations already charge extra for premium fuels. If customers are willing to pay and companies like Nayara and Jio-bp are ready to supply, why not allow the sale of pure, ethanol-free petrol?
The distribution network exists if there is consumer demand. Why create roadblocks in a free market?
People eat at both dhabas and 5-star hotels depending on their preference and budget. Fuel choices should be no different.

If a corporator thinks it’s okay to beat up a doctor, then the next time there’s a pothole in a road in his area, is it okay to beat him?

A 19-year-old hacker used VPNs, tunneling tools, and rotated IPs across 3 countries. The FBI still caught him. Here's the Windows feature that made it possible and why it should concern everyone.
Peter Stokes, an alleged member of Scattered Spider (the group behind $100M+ in ransomware extortion), was arrested at Helsinki Airport this April. Court documents revealed a key piece of evidence: Microsoft's GDID.
What is a GDID?
GDID = Global Device Identifier. It's a unique code baked into every Windows installation. Microsoft uses it for telemetry, crash reports, feature usage, and license verification (it's why swapping your CPU can break your Windows activation).
What Microsoft gave the FBI:
→ Web activity with timestamps
→ Gaming history
→ IP addresses used over time
→ Tool usage (including Ngrok, a tunneling app)
→ Azure account activity
All tied to one persistent device fingerprint. Even though the VPN masked his IP, it didn't affect the GDID.
How they connected the dots:
Every time Stokes logged in to Snapchat, Apple, or Facebook from a new IP address, the GDID was there too. Investigators matched timestamps across platforms and countries: Tallinn, New York, Thailand, Germany. Different IPs. Same machine. Same person.
Microsoft had already identified him in October 2024 and filed a criminal referral. He was still 17. So they waited till He turned 18. Then they moved.
Yes, Stokes is accused of serious crimes. But the GDID data exists on every Windows machine, including yours. The infrastructure that handed his entire digital life to the FBI is the same infrastructure running on your laptop right now.
The unanswered questions:
- There's no public policy on when Microsoft shares GDID data
- No known opt-out mechanism
- No transparency report specifically covering GDID disclosures
- What other criminal referrals has Microsoft quietly filed?
yesterday i got a call from tcs for an ai architect role. they needed someone who could lead end-to-end delivery of genai pipelines across multiple clients in a forward deployment style with 5+ years of experience.
the budget was 25 lpa.
i know for a fact the client billing on this role will be close to 3x that, which lands just a few lakhs short of my own expected comp. and i genuinely think this is exactly why the likes of tcs are going to struggle through the genai wave, especially with google, microsoft and the frontier labs slowly moving into consulting.
the classic dhandho of arbitraging talent and treating engineers like interchangeable resources is just not built for what’s coming.
you want a fairly rare breed of engineer but want to pay what the market pays for far a junior QA, in a market where hands-on ai engineers are probably the hottest commodity in tech.
i genuinely don’t know what they’re competing on anymore. or if they even have it in them to compete
The modern financial system says:
“We cannot let asset prices fall because it will hurt the economy.”
But what it really means is:
“We cannot let leveraged asset owners take the full loss, so we will spread that loss across savers, workers, farmers and currency holders.”
That is why this system feels unfair.
A farmer who saves money, avoids debt, owns land, produces food and lives conservatively gets punished through inflation.
A leveraged urban buyer who borrowed aggressively into inflated assets may get rescued because debt becomes easier to repay in debased money.
That is morally upside down.
But here is the reality:
Central banks are trapped.
If they allow full debt deflation, real estate falls, banks get hit, construction slows, jobs vanish, tax revenue drops, consumption collapses and defaults rise.
So the system chooses inflationary support.
Not because it is fair.
Because the alternative is immediate collapse.
But this creates a bigger long-term problem:
It slowly destroys trust in money.
And this is where Gold comes in.
Gold is not just an investment.
Gold is protection from a system that constantly transfers pain from debtors to savers.
It is protection from paper promises.
It is protection from central banks choosing inflation because they cannot allow the debt structure to break.
My personal view is simple:
Do not build your life assuming currency will protect your savings.
Do not stay overexposed to paper assets just because they look safe in nominal terms.
Do not take reckless leverage thinking inflation will always save you.
And do not ignore real assets that cannot be printed.
Gold will not make you rich overnight.
But in a world where the system chooses slow theft over sudden failure, Gold becomes financial self-defense.
The goal is not to gamble.
The goal is to survive the debasement cycle with dignity, purchasing power and optionality.
The problem with trading is that you learn a lot of patterns. But once in a blue moon adverse patterns that are of tail emerge, and by the time your brain can adapt, it would be too late most of the times.
A private firm Nayara Energy working for profits can cut the petrol and diesel prices but public companies and government working in public interest can't..
Staying married, a happy household, evidence of the parents working hard, childhood sports and watch all competitions, lots of hugs, reward merit, punish only egregious misbehavior, don't yell, restrict social media, monitor messages through 8th grade, the real expectation is college and academic excellence without pressure from parents, get children reading books early, no pacifiers, respond to needs not wants, babies sleep on their own through the night by 6 months, identify develop and support any talent or aptiude, one sport after age 10 is ok, communicate openly and easily with kids through grade 12, allow mistakes, and leave them alone in college. And then hope.

“Many Indian investors who became popular over the last 5 years made most of their money in small caps.”
“But they had access to promoters and industry networks. Retail investors don’t, and often end up buying stocks which are flashing on the screen.”
