@GNRailUK@GNRailUK so essentially a VERY limited service again tomorrow. Can you please advise when (which day) you expect to resume normal service please? Like many others I have travel plans over the weekend and need to know what service you are expecting to deliver.
@GNRailUK Hi you have cancelled nearly all services, all day from Ely/Cbg to KGX. Presume this is heat/safety related? Before the end of service last night a “normal service had resumed”. When are you expecting to resume service? Would be helpful to understand Thurs/Fri plans.
@GNRailUK Thanks Kieran but that isn’t an answer to my question. Besides you’re only running one stopping service an hour from Cambridge (according to the planner). I’d like to know the reason for cancellation and when you expect to return to a normal service. Thanks
@SamCoatesSky This is clickbait though calling HMK a chump is a bit much - imagine a situation where the Palace declined to deliver a speech for a legitimate prime minister leaving the commons on lockdown…
@lewis_goodall He’ll quit because being PM would be too much hard work, require actual policy solutions and mainly because he’d have to make choices that would make him unpopular with his base. I reckon he’s gone as formal leader at some point in 2028
@montie@AndyBurnhamGM@ConHome I agree @montie but presumably means you’re also against the £2.1bn pledge for VAT cuts proposed by your leader today? The same challenge/criticism applies right?
@GNRailUK@GNRailUK the 04:49 is cancelled from Cambridge because of the overhead damage but the next one is currently showing as getting to Kings Cross. Is that your understanding? Is the overhead issue essentially repaired by 6am?
@MrHarryCole@Cjpearson@MrHarryCole do you considered it your responsibility to consider what the +/- impact of these things are on American democracy? Do you think you have any responsibility to analyse anything at all? You’ve become a mouthpiece for the admin rather than a journo offering analysis…
@IainDale This level of knowledge is (unsurprisingly for FtM fans) encyclopaedic. Personally kind of like having you and Graham running in parallel - like the C4 alternative Christmas broadcast!
@NadineDorries Seem to recall a lot of you saying this was funny/fine when Rachel Reeves and Labour MPs were being refused service in pubs…one rule for one eh?
@GNRailUK Not an answer to my question we have been putting up with this for years…we need stable rail connections at weekends and there is no point pretending rail replacement buses provide that - they add so much extra time and complexity to what is normally a 70 minute trip!
@GNRailUK According to your rail planner there are rail replacement works stopping anyone north of Ely getting to London at the weekend for 4/5 May weekends! Is this ever going to end or is the presumption people don’t go anywhere on Saturday or Sunday?!
@MaryVogwell@alexwickham clearly isn’t the govt position or precedence. Ministers have accepted that they categorically should not see the findings just the outcome - Doughty said it in the house. I don’t think anyone messed up, I think the process was followed and CO/No10 are looking for a scapegoat
@alexwickham You really need to move past this…the question is whether OR deviated from official guidance for approving FCDO DV status - the document is irrelevant! It looks massively like a red herring used to obfuscate the clear lack of governance from No10 and CO.
@hattmarris84@AndrewMarr9 Would love to know what the specific complaint is against Robbins. To summarily dismiss you need proof of gross misconduct which would mean acting against guidance or the civil service code. Robbins said he did neither…what rules does No10/@EmilyThornberry think he broke?
@PippaCrerar I don’t understand why words like “astonishing” keep being used. It’s a formal process…UKSVR make a rec, this is discussed with the FCDO and a decision is reached. OR clearly knew what the concerns were because he put mitigations in place. The process worked as it’s meant to!
@alexwickham I don’t think he is at all…it’s entirely consistent with the real underlying process that’s been outlined all along - its not a decision taken by UKSV - they make an assessment of risk and the PUS makes the final decision - that is then the decision - that’s been obvious always
@hanoiisgreat@julianHjessop@iainmartin1 The govts objective is to improve trade and give more businesses (particularly SMEs) access to international trade. 1000s of such businesses stopped trading internationally after the Brexit deal because the costs were too high. I hope you understand that more trade improves GDP?
