In 1869, two broke friends stood side by side and painted the same scene.

Renoir watched the people.

Monet watched the water.

One cared about life on the riverbank.

The other cared about what the light was doing to the river.

Same day. Same view.

Two ways of seeing the world.

I haven't watched Dune since I saw it at the cinema, so it's been a long time! Visually stunning, as only David Lynch can do. Lots of his trademark camera shots. Loved it.

Those three little stars in Orion’s Belt are neither little nor a belt.

Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka look like beads on a string. They are not. They are blazing blue supergiants — huge, hot, and wildly more luminous than the Sun — scattered through deep space and only lined up because Earth happens to sit at this angle.

They are not even at the same distance. One is hundreds of light-years closer than another. From almost any other world, the famous straight line would fall apart.

And Mintaka, the “one star” at the end of the Belt, is a lie all by itself: a tight family of five suns pretending to be a single point of light.

Look up on a winter night and you are not seeing three dots. You are seeing a trick of perspective, a handful of giants, and a sky that keeps its best secrets in plain sight.

Not many extras on the second bluray disc on Gone with the Wind, but a fascinating newsreel from 1939, in which over 300,000 people lined the streets to watch the stars parade in open top cars! Amazing.

Just finished watching Gone with the Wind on blu-ray. All 233 minutes in one viewing and I loved every minute of it! Magnificent technicolour cinematography, a wonderful Max Steiner musical score, a fine screenplay and two film stars at the very peak of their acting powers.

Wow......."Epic : Elvis Presley in Concert" was absolutely brilliant! So much great footage from his early 1970's Las Vegas concerts, alot of which I'd never seen before. The picture and the HD Master Audio sound was breathtaking!

I'm loving Google Gemini! The "Generative Edit" function on Samsung Galaxy smartphones is very good, but Gemini takes it to a whole new level! The range of image enhancements is amazing. Plus, you don't get an annoying watermark automatically added to your images.
