وزارة العدل الأمريكية نشرت نسخة أخرى من البريد نفسه ضمن ملف منفصل، ويبدو أن عملية تنقيح الاسم فيها لم تكن محكمة بالشكل الكافي. أحد المدونين تمكن من كشف الاسم، وعند التدقيق في أسفل الرسالة يظهر اسم:

Susan Hamblin — سوزان هامبلين.

ومن هنا تبدأ القصة الأكثر غرابة.

هامبلين شخصية شبه غائبة عن الإنترنت؛ معلومات نادرة، ظهور محدود، ولا يكاد يوجد لها أرشيف مرئي مقارنة بحجم الادعاءات المرتبطة بها.

المعلومات المتداولة عنها تشير إلى أنها كانت مستشارة مالية، كما أسست وكالة تبنٍّ حملت اسم «Children to Families»، وظهرت لها صور وهي تغادر شقة إبستين، حيث وُصفت بأنها مساعدته.

ثم اختفى موقع الوكالة من الإنترنت، ولم يعد الوصول إلى محتواه متاحًا إلا من خلال الأرشيفات.

والقصة تصبح أكثر إثارة مع قضية قضائية رفعتها هامبلين ضد صحيفة The Sun، بعد نشر الصحيفة مقالًا قارنها بغيلين ماكسويل، وتضمن ادعاءات حول تعرضها للتهديد إذا كشفت ما كان يحدث.

ومنذ ذلك الوقت، تبدو المعلومات المتاحة عنها محدودة للغاية.

اسم يظهر في بريد بهذا الشكل… شخصية مرتبطة بإبستين… وكالة تبنٍّ اختفى موقعها… ثم اختفاء شبه كامل من المشهد العام.
