@vetusdeus112 These tweets still have me howling with laughter eighteen months after you posting the story. How is Guddu now? And has she lost all that weight? Did it work out with Kanna? Please update.
A GudduKanna fan from across the border
@RodDMartin This is so full of holes. The Shah was very unpopular even among urban liberals for much of a decade. The government was corrupt, the royals spent lavishly, extreme poverty in much of the country. The dreaded Savak cracking down on dissidents. And of course the Mossadegh episode
@Hanifkureishi Made a note to order it. I've followed your journey on Twitter. Truly inspirational. And the tweets I missed when the platform was banned in Pakistan were yours. Have been catching up on your story since Twitter (still can't call it X) was made accessible again.
@mujhaycryaraha Iran supported Pakistan in '65 and '71. Pakistan paid back the favour by supporting Iraq during the 8 year war. India supported Iran then and later too. How do you think the Iranians feel? And by the way while Pakistan got tons of aid for the Afghan refugees Iran did it for free
If Iranian people are energised and motivated according to you, show some balls and go back and lead them and remove the regime. Put your money where your arse is, bloody parasitical imperial whore..
@Martina@jonnyjkane In this case it’s a liberal actor calling out a right-wing politician’s bad behaviour. Good for him. We’ve got to be less touchy about these things. If the actor had been female she would be applauded for her gumption. And yes, politicians like that need to be told to shut up
