Did @wectnews just prove how biased local media can be? WECT didn’t tell you the full story — they pushed a narrative, not the facts, and used HB 958 as a prop to attack Republicans and boost Deb Butler. The full update is in the comments. Please like, share, and subscribe — and tell us in the replies: did WECT get it wrong?

Masonboro is looking at de‑annexation to take their property – and their tax dollars – back out of Wilmington’s grip. Should more North Carolina communities consider de‑annexation to fight tax‑and‑spend politics? #ncpol #wilmingtonnc
Do you trust President Trump to cut a good peace deal with Iran without showing us all the details first? In today’s Wilmington Standard Daily Update, I talk about the new Iran MOU, gas prices here in North Carolina, and why some on the right are furious with this move. Can you really not remember your own address?
North Carolina gives voters clear ways to register, but the Left says college students are “disenfranchised” when a simple verification postcard bounces.
Same-day registration jams the system, invites bad ballots, and adds chaos we don’t need.
The links are in the comments — please like and subscribe, and tell us: should we stop same-day registration?

Passing laws to handle the symptoms are not necessarily bad things - but the underlying reasons of why kids - especially young men - join gangs needs to be addressed. And not by the government.

“Can any gang law fix what’s broken at home?
North Carolina’s Jaleeyah’s Law cracks down on gangs, but the harder work is rebuilding fathers and families so fewer young men end up there in the first place.

Watch the full update (link in the comments), then reply and tell me: what should Republicans do next — stay home over “purity,” or show up and vote?

@bribes_are_ok@wilmingtonstan Acts actually says that we are to use the market system to provide for the poor. The reaping laws of the OT say that we are not to harvest all the way to the edge.
However, one has nothing to do with the other.
@bribes_are_ok@wilmingtonstan In the NT - John the Baptist lept for joy in the womb of his mother at the presence of Mary - who also was pregnant. The Bible does state that we are human in the womb.
@bribes_are_ok@wilmingtonstan Actually, you are incorrect. The Old Testament specifically calls for grievances - including the death penalty for harm to a pregnant woman AND her unborn child. Jeremiah talks about God knowing us - and the Hebrew is specific about the humanity - in the womb.
Should politicians decide when human life begins, or is that truth already settled?
Today’s Wilmington Standard Daily Update looks at a North Carolina bill that would define life at conception, effectively classifying abortion as homicide, and why leaders may keep it off your ballot—even if it’s the right thing to do. The link to the podcast is in the comments—will any of this change your mind on abortion?
