I spoke before the Hendry County School Board to thank them for partnering with @IncubateDebate to pilot our classroom debate toolkit with over 500 of their students.
Debate enhances student comprehension, boosts communication skills, and teaches the art of disagreeing agreeably.
Incubate's next chapter is bringing the power of debate directly to students in the classroom, and it can't come soon enough.
Americans disagreeing about important issues is normal. What's not normal is the new and widespread practice of shutting down debates on our disagreements, most oftentimes in the name "safety" or "inclusivity" or to prevent "disinformation."
We need to revive a culture in which anyone can present arguments, have those arguments challenged on their merit, and, in the process, get closer to truth.
Make Debate Great Again.
@rick_ramirez915 @AVID4College You did an amazing job!! Look forward to seeing if you can join us one day in Hendry County FL to help us build those CHAMPION school cultures!
As leaders, don't confuse doing more with doing better. Improvement often doesn't require buying/trying new things. Instead, it requires investment and focus to realize the potential of initiatives already adopted and commitments already made. More is often a barrier to better.

Honesty, decency, and even democracy are threatened when the self-righteous, pseudo-pious pronouncements of a baseless loud voice, overpower, intimidate, or eclipse the goodness of true, righteous, ethical and humane intent. Silence only condones and enables it.
