@UncleFiggs7@ProducerDrew_ Maybe we need to rethink what sweaters we put letters on. The league has too many guys wearing Cs and As because it looks great on posters and ads instead of people who actually earned and command respect of their teammates.
@stefen_rosner@TheElmonters The Isles should not want Lee back. Time to get younger, faster. If you still have Lee, you still have the same ol' team. It wasn't good enough last year; why would it be next?
@mc82_j@stefen_rosner@TheElmonters Their money is not the issue. Lee's pace, among other things, is.
Where would you put him on this roster? To slow for top 2, not a 4th liner, and we have 9-10 3rd line guys.
Do you need him plugging up the ice and the roster? No. Time to move on, get younger, faster.
@qndarwin@isleslive@stefen_rosner Whatever he wants. Deal with the rest.
I think Darche learned what we #Isles have sorta known for years: don’t take the bait.
@HanaHoops It’s not hydration breaks. They’ve been around for a while, but were used if and when necessary. 30 degrees under the sun in KC? Ok. 20 climate controlled degrees in a dome? That’s an ad break, plain and simple.
@qndarwin@isleslive@stefen_rosner All those contracts expire around the same time our current crop of prospects would be ready to step in and take over. And 48 will be all of 20-21 years old.
It’s actually a pretty good transition plan, surrounding kids with quality pros who know what it looks like to win cups.
@HorsesnHockey@stefen_rosner This team is perfectly set up to flood with young, cheap capable talent in 27-28. Then, we’ll have quality, some organizational depth, and cap space.
Plus a superstar hitting age…20? 21?
@datadomNY And Mariusz Czerkawski was a 30+ goal scorer on bad Isles teams.
Kesselring was a good player on a bad team, surplus to requirements and traded inside a year on a good team.
@rattmartin Byram is good, but will want an upgrade from $6.25M, seems to be in trade talk too often, and we're full on the left.
Not sure if that's where we should shoot our shot.
@PeterPiperReady@mypetrock_@datadomNY He's still young, so there's that. But by age 26 even D need to start putting up or shutting up.
He was a "good" player on a bad team, surplus to requirements and traded inside a year on a good team. After coughing up Peterka to get him, too.
Yup, overrated.
