Lot of talk about the Southernly impacting races at Flemington on Saturday but on top of this I think lanes 1-3 were superior.

The biggest evidence for this was in the G1 Newmarket, down the straight the southerly doesn’t aid leaders but every horse in the finish hugged the rail

There were signs of life from Eternal Flame first up, posting the fastest L200 of the day & completely unsuited by both the track pattern & race shape.

After 2 preps of performing well below her best, it looks as though she might be back near her best. Huge price tomorrow if so.

The set up today gives Davida as good a chance as she’ll get to beat the 2 top colts but if you’re backing her I think the main concern is that Craig goes too slow and gives up her advantage.

At times has a little bit of tendency to throw the anchor out mid-race if not pressured

@AussieBenC Can’t knock her, I also have her a touch under the market price, thought Thanks Gorgeous & Signature Scent also both present value. Both map well and have been consistent performers against the top fillies.

Binned Esha and had Jenni & Sofie a little longer than the market.

Gonna pump the brakes a tad on the Alpha Sofie hype ahead of Caulfield this weekend.

Market seemingly expects her to improve again off last start where she couldn’t have possibly been more blessed.

She might, but seems a low % play to me.

@AussieBenC I’m not fully convinced on Bo Nix yet. Has a great system around him to help him succeed but with a tougher schedule this year and teams game planning for him I think we might see some year 2 regression.

@AussieBenC All true but I do think KC’s defence is being very underrated in the lead up, if they can contain Barkley, which I think they can, Eagles will be relying on Hurts arm (🫣) and KC may not even need to put up a big score to win.

I do hope I’m wrong though for what it’s worth.
