The Bitcointalk thread was started after users complained about discovering that the source code for the first public Bitcoin release (around January 9th) had been removed and deleted from Sourceforge, a website similar to GitHub at that time.
A Bitcointalk user claims Hal Finney was listed as a Bitcoin Developer during the Genesis Block 0 and before the official launch of Bitcoin V0.1.0
Hal responded to the thread with the source code without denying any claims of that user.
