@MDonohue NYC has good theater and fine street pretzels but pizza is the real topic, isn’t it? So calling deep dish casserole is slanderous and silly - it’s awesome and everyone knows it.
@MDonohue The premise is false. NYC thinks it is the standard for pizza, but it’s just…the same pizza as anywhere. There’s no iconic NY pizza - it’s all just foldable, fungible and so, so thin in more ways than one. Yes, Chicago hotdogs, beefs, and architecture are tremendous. 1/x
Immaculate Gridkin is a little different than the regular game because the grid is already filled in.
Each square represents an MLB player with a name or nickname that has a Halloween connection. #ImmaculateGrid
All of the players represented have at least 400 MLB games played for hitters, or 375 MLB innings for pitchers. One solution is below though you may come up with a different correct solution. There are 6 hitters and 4 pitchers in the grid. Have fun and Happy Hall⚾️ween!
@dougglanville I remember a similar question in a book I loved as a boy: Encyclopedia Brown’s Record Book of Weird and Wonderful Facts. How fast? FAST!
@luckyxwords Great puzzle! 🤯 when I noticed that 31 and 60 across both cross (and are examples of) the terms referenced in 21 down. Congrats from a fellow Torontonian!
@NancySerranoWu@MossDef Congratulations, Nancy! Fun one! I’m in Toronto and loved the Across and Down doc, and seeing your joy as you received your acceptance was so great. Do you if there is a way to watch it in the US? I’ve told some friends about it but the CBC site version doesn’t work in the US.
@jmaynard@jgfarb Haha, thanks John! Note, 16 across was originally clued as “New Jersey Nets first round draft pick in 1994, Yinka ____” but the editors just aren’t GW fans I guess. Hope you liked the puzzle and that all is well!
