Aditya is father of a 4.6 year old girl child. His daughter was taken away yesterday evening after 6pm by ASI Sitaram Lamani of Adarsh Nagar Police station @VIJAYAPURPOLICE on pretext of producing the child before court in Belgaum on court orders

We saw the orders & child had to be produced on 17 JULY before 5pm and not 12:30am in the night on 16 July i.e tonight.

Child was taken without anyone known to her being there in a private vehicle which was being driven by a shirtless driver with 4 cops sitting

Father claims he was not given any prior notice. Sir, this whole exercise is deeply disturbing and must have been traumatic for the child. Mother had not filed any custody case and child was being taken care by father & his family for last two years. Now he's being treated like a criminal not allowed to even touch his daughter or speak to her

I request your kind intervention as to why it was so urgent to pick such a small child at night when the order by the court nowhere mentioned so and on whose orders was this done sir. Hope you will look into this.

This is Rafiq Hussain Bhattuk. He was a leader in Godhra, owned two petrol pumps, and it was he who arranged the petrol used to burn the Sabarmati train. He remained absconding for 14 years. The Gujarat Intelligence Bureau had kept his relatives and family members under surveillance, with all their phones being monitored. One day, he called his son because he had become a grandfather. The surveillance traced his location to Delhi. He then told his son that he would secretly come to Godhra on a certain date because he wanted to see his grandson.

The police decided it would be better to let him come to Godhra rather than arrest him in Delhi. He arrived in Godhra, where police officers in plain clothes were stationed at the railway station and arrested him.

Yesterday, all of his crimes were proven in court, and he was sentenced to life imprisonment. Remember when Lalu Yadav used to say that the fire on the Sabarmati Express in Godhra had started on its own and that no one had set it? After confessing everything, he told the police that he had spent those 14 years living in Lajpat Rai Market in Old Delhi.

Just think about how vast the ecosystem of these religious terrorists is. Did any journalist report this news?

He will get bail. That's normal. It's legal. We can't expect him to be locked up forever for what he did. He will have to attend court, pay a fine, or settle with the one who was beaten up etc. All that is fine. The taking action part is most important. People should know they can't simply get away beating someone on the road. They will get into trouble. Next time will think twice before the same. And others will get deterred doing the same. Or the same guy may do something more criminal next time. This is the essence of Broken Windows Theory.

The economic and demographic effects of corruption.

Cost of land in our urban areas is far higher than what our GDP per capita would dictate. The ratio of land value to per capita GDP is probably higher in India than anywhere else. As an example, land prices in Chennai or Bengaluru rival that of cities like New York which has a vastly higher per capita GDP.

The key reason?

First, vast sums of political corruption money is parked in real estate. This raises real estate prices and high real estate prices affect everything downstream.

Second, corruption in building approvals and the like - the famous DTCP - raises construction costs, on top of already higher real estate costs.

Third, corruption in private school regulatory compliance enforcement raises school fees.

Fourth, corruption in private hospital regulatory compliance enforcement raises health care costs.

Fifth, household goods need sales outlets and those pay higher rents due to high real estate prices and construction costs.

So housing, education, healthcare and household goods - all of these now cost higher.

As a direct consequence, the economic burden on the average person gets worse. Young people, facing all these costs, postpone marriage, and postpone children or have fewer children.

That directly affects our demographics.

While this issue exists in many parts of India, Tamil Nadu, being the most urbanized of the bigger states, is particularly hit hard.

So corruption is becoming an existential threat to our society.

If you worry about the super-low birth rate in Tamil Nadu, way below replacement, understand that corruption raising our cost of living is one of the major causes, not the only cause, but a big one in our context.

The Modi government views foreign funded groups operating outside its laws as a direct threat to India's sovereignty and stability.

Just 15 days after the attack on its commercial tankers, the ED registered a criminal case under UAPA, against a US based Christian missionary organisation called the Timothy Initiative.

The ED booked the Timothy Initiative organisation for allegedly completely bypassing Indian financial regulatory rules by distributing 92.33 crore funds by a network of foreign debit cards to left wing extremists Delhi & Maoists regions to fuel unlawful activities and government unrest.

Be prepared for Human rights and lobbying groups to claim that India is throttling human rights and public's expression.

On the other hand, we have Congress government in Telangana which renamed a road in Hyderabad to Donald Trump Avenue.
This is the FIRST TIME that a U.S. President has been honored with a street name in India.

The DMK ecosystem is attacking me that the school issue I reported was a lie I concocted to help the TVK government. Let me state the facts.

We run two rural schools, both free NIOS schools under the Kalaivani Kalvi Maiyam umbrella, one in rural Tenkasi and the other in rural Theni.

The Theni school was originally started and run by a retired IPS officer, a honest and upright man. He built very nice facilities but had to shut down his CBSE school because the state government demanded too much money to issue the NOC. He told me that as a honest retired officer he did not have the money to pay and they would not issue the NOC otherwise.

He urged us to take over his trust so we could run our free NIOS school in the premises. That is how we started our NIOS school in Theni.

Unlike in Tenkasi, where I live, the Theni school faced occasional harassment from the DMK government because we did not have a state government registration, so we tried getting state government approval again (this time for the state board) and that of course would also cost money. So it was in a limbo.

Meanwhile in Tenkasi we wanted to build new school facilities (we were operating in make-shift facilities, the ones that came in frequent photos) and we applied for DTCP approval to construct the new buildings. Everyone who knows DTCP in our state knows what kind of corruption happened there under the DMK.

We waited patiently for DTCP approval for the new school buildings but the approval never came as long as the DMK was in power. The approval came automatically once the government changed.

It is this DTCP approval that I posted about in X. I want to once again appreciate the refreshing change.

Not only did the approvals come, government people told us not to pay money to anyone for any approvals. I have to appreciate this in public, having endured what we had endured before.

This is the "lie" that DMK wants to attack me on.

I do not need their certificate on my character.
They can examine their conscience and ask why a technology nerd like me who is mostly immersed in code would post these.

If they think I would back down by their vile personal attacks because I am a Brahmin or TVK Stooge or Sanghi or whatever, I will tell them this: unlike you dynasts I grew up with nothing. I studied in Tamil medium schools. I know how to live on nothing. I have dedicated the remainder of my life to make Bharat self reliant in technology while reviving our rural areas, the soul of our eternal sanatana civilization.

I will not be intimidated by their attacks. I am unafraid of death, why would I be afraid of the mere DMK?

And if they had any conscience they can return the money they looted (they know there they keep it) and then they can attack my character.

I will now go back to optimizing the code of our compiler!

Here is NTA statement exposing his malicious lie —

“Reference the issue with regard to allotment of a centre in Abu Dhabi to a candidate in Nagpur, NTA would like to state the following:

NTA's web-activity records indicate that the city change in this case was made through the candidate's own registered login during the open correction window, with a consistent single-user access pattern.

Despite the Abu Dhabi centre being chosen by the candidate, the NTA received an informal request on the evening of 19 June (just 48 hours before the exam) to change the centre to Nagpur. NTA personnel immediately initiated the change and contacted the candidate's father on 19 June evening itself to help them complete the formal process.

NTA has observed that on 3 occasions, once the centre was changed to Abu Dhabi using candidate’s credentials and twice it was previewed that the centre is Abu Dhabi.

Despite that NTA has accorded to aspirant’s request and the change of centre was actioned...”

Shri Gadkari has already done more than needed work in transport, so much so that there is virtually nothing left to be done. A man with such a Midas touch, and hunger to bring change even if it's not needed, is exactly what is required in the Education Ministry, where a massive overhaul is needed.

Meanwhile, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan can be transferred to the Transport Ministry. Since the heavy lifting there has already been completed, the ministry now requires someone who won't do much, will leave things exactly as they are, and won't experiment too much. Shri Pradhan, having done remarkably little in the Education Ministry, would be the ideal candidate for the job.

Zoho keeps doing things the rest of Indian tech has decided are impossible.

They just built its own computer server, but the way they did it is so fascinating.

First, let's understand what a server is. It is the big computer sitting in a data centre that runs your apps. Every time you use Gmail or WhatsApp, a server somewhere does the work.

Almost every server running in India is designed by foreign companies. Indian firms just buy them.

Zoho decided to design its own. And I cannot stop thinking about how they went about it.

They set up the project in Nagpur.

Now, Nagpur had no experienced hardware engineers at all. So Zoho did not hire experts from Dell or HPE. They started a training programme called SETU, hired freshers straight out of engineering colleges, and gave them one hard problem to work on for five years.

Think about that. Every big IT company in India complains that freshers are unemployable.

Zoho took those same freshers, in a smaller city, and got a working server out of them. They have filed more than five patents on the designs, and the key parts were designed fully in-house and put together by Indian manufacturing partners.

So the talent has always been there. A company patient enough to train people was the missing piece.

But why build your own server at all?

Zoho runs all its apps on its own machines. Until now, every server they bought from a foreign company included that company's profit and licence fees.

By designing their own, they get the same performance while using 12 to 18% less electricity, and the total cost of owning each machine drops by 20 to 30%.

With a few hundred servers, that saving is small. But Zoho plans to move all its apps worldwide onto these machines.

Also there is an AI angle. Running AI is expensive because AI needs huge computing power. Zoho's plan is to run smaller, focused AI models on its own servers in its own data centres, to manage costs.

Most companies rent computing power from Amazon or Google but Zoho is attacking the bill at the machine level.

The timing is important too.

In 2023, the Indian government put restrictions on importing hardware like servers. Zoho had already started its server team in Nagpur back in 2020.

Three years before the government rule arrived, Zoho was preparing for a world where India cannot simply import its computers.

So, they moved on their own belief.

The best part is that the design is fully owned in India, Zoho does not depend on any foreign company for security checks, software updates, or licences.

If some country imposes sanctions or a licensing fight breaks out tomorrow, nobody abroad can switch off Zoho's machines.

Zoho has been honest about the fact that the chip inside the server is still an Intel processor, and Intel helped in the development.

That is fine. Every country that builds hardware starts this way. China's server companies started by assembling other people's parts and slowly went deeper. The chip is the next decade's problem.

What I love most is how Zoho-like this whole thing is.

> It opened offices in villages and small towns.

> It hires school students and trains them.

> It built its own browser and its own AI model.

> Now its own server.

Now compare this with the big Indian IT companies. TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL.

Together they earn over $250 billion. They have managed the world's computers for decades. But not one of them designed a server of their own.

Even the name is a nice touch. Nathu La is the mountain pass in Sikkim through which India traded with the world on the old Silk Route.

Naming your first server after a trade gateway, while building it so India depends less on imported tech, shows someone thought about this for years.

They have a few hundred servers running today and want 2,000 by the end of the year. Small numbers. But the team is trained, the design works, and the path is proven.

Indian software companies spent 30 years building on other people's machines.

One of them finally built the machine. :)

Kolkata Metro work was stalled for 15 years.

The only reason was that if the metro project had been completed, Narendra Modi would have inaugurated it, and Mamata Banerjee did not want that. Because the central government is building it.

Yes, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, which was working on the Kolkata Metro's rail line, had to build a bypass over a bypass, but that required a 15-day traffic stoppage.

15 years ago, RVNL sent a letter to the local administration asking them to stop traffic for 15 days. The TMC government did not stop the traffic!

4 more letters were sent, but traffic was not stopped.

After that, RBNL had to approach the High Court. The HC immediately ordered the West Bengal government to halt traffic so that the Metro project could be completed.

But Mamata Banerjee's stubbornness led her to appeal the High Court's decision to the Supreme Court.

When the Supreme Court ruled that traffic must be halted for 15 days, Mamata Banerjee filed a review petition.

And most surprisingly, no media outlet even reported the dirty game being played in West Bengal just to prevent Modi from inaugurating the project.

Millions of people in her own state were wasting their time stuck in traffic jams, but Mamata Banerjee's pride was paramount.

Then came the elections, and this issue was widely discussed.

Then the Mamata government was gone, and a project that had been stalled for 15 years was completed in just 15 days.

That's why I say that India's opposition is the biggest enemy of the country's development.

One of my strongest takeaways and observation from Norway came while standing in a queue to buy an ice cream in Bergen.

A little girl, perhaps 5 or 6 years old, was standing with her father. Excited by all the flavours on display, she instinctively stepped ahead of me to get a better look.

Very gently, her father reminded her:

“Your turn will come. Please stay in the queue.”

I smiled and offered them my place.

The father politely declined.

What struck me was not the child’s behaviour. Any excited child would do the same.

What struck me was the lesson.

“We wait because everyone else is waiting. The rule does not change because someone is being kind.”

From a very young age, children are taught to respect shared public spaces, rules and the rights of others.
Not through punishments.
Not through lectures.
Through thousands of small corrections like this by their role models who happen to be parents, the best role model a kid can have.

High trust societies are not built by governments alone.

Thousands of such tiny corrections, repeated over years, create societies where people automatically queue for buses, stop at pedestrian crossings, return library books on time and generally trust strangers.

In India, children are also taught kindness, family values and hospitality exceptionally well, but public space behaviour receives far less emphasis.

I wish that would improve.
