Let's not forget who created the foundation of our successes; they are the early educators in our lives. How can NYC not provide the resources necessary to strengthen our Early Childhood Directors and Staff? @CSABKLYN@BKBoroHall
Universal Pre-K & 3K would not be possible without the talent & leadership of early childhood directors in community-based orgs. These incredible professionals have helped keep our city running during the pandemic. They deserve the same pay as their school-based counterparts.
CSA has long advocated that early childhood directors in community-based organizations should be on a path towards pay parity with those in DOE schools. These essential workers, mostly women of color, are critical for Universal Pre-K/3K programs. They deserve a fair contract now.
We thank @NYCCouncil for their budget response calling for pay parity for dedicated early childhood directors. Mostly women of color who work longer hours and nobly served families during the pandemic! @NYCMayor must end the "tale of two cities" & finally resolve these inequities
We wish a very Happy Mother’s Day to all those who have selflessly dedicated their lives to their children. We are especially in awe of those who simultaneously manage the demanding work life of a school leader. Thank you to mothers everywhere and all who serve in that vital role
As Teacher Appreciation Week draws to a close, we once again thank & salute NYC teachers for their dedication to students during this crisis. We hope the gratitude shown this week carries on in coming months as we continue remote learning & reopen school buildings.
CSA joins in remembering all those workers who died in service this past year. Particularly those who passed from Covid-19. And we salute the essential workers putting themselves in harm’s way as they serve our city in its time of need. #WorkersMemorialDay@CentralLaborNYC
We understand the obvious need to cut budgets. But there is no reason cuts should impact schools directly. A small portion of the overall education budget goes directly to schools. Savings should be found elsewhere & cuts to Fair Student Funding should be avoided at all costs.
CSA celebrates the Week of the Young Child by saluting Early Childhood Directors, Assistant Directors & staff for their contributions to the well-being and success of NYC children, particularly during this crisis. And we continue to fight for pay parity for those who serve CBOs.
We know it may be necessary to cut budgets, but will advocate strongly that those cuts not reach classrooms. We believe there are other places to make cuts in the education budget & stand ready to help DOE identify potential cost savings. @MarkTreyger718@Dromm25 @NYCSpeakerCoJo
