If you live through life without the regular nawaafil prayers...

without witr, without dhuha, without reciting even a portion of the Qur’an daily, without morning and evening adhkār…

without seeking knowledge, voluntary fasting, voluntary sadaqah (charity), or any deeds that earns you the love of Allah...

then don’t be surprised if you lose happiness and peace in this life, and don’t be surprised if you stand empty-handed in the akhirah.

Allah rises people through different doors:

One through the gate of fasting, another through salah, another through charity, another through maintaining family ties, and another through striving in Allah’s cause.

The voluntary acts of worship build your rank in this world, in the loneliness of the grave, and in jannah.

Hold firmly to these acts. They are your stored treasures for this world and the hereafter.

Learn to leave things in the hands of Allah. I once desperately wanted something and prayed for it for years. Eventually, I had to let it go and trust Allah. Alhamdulillah, He gave me something far better than I ever imagined. We make plans, but Allah’s plan is always greater.
