A grass roots movement started by parents in Richmond BC, tired of chronic underfunding of public ed and lack of urgency to seismically upgrade schools.
I thank Former Green candidate Roy Sakata (Richmond-Steveston) for endorsing my candidacy for MLA! I’m excited that CleanBC will be amended to reach net zero emissions by 2050, which means we are investing in our children’s and grandchildren’s future. 😊

and two others in Richmond were saved that day. This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for all the engaged parents who fought with us to save our school, and for leaders like @KellyRichmondBC I am also thankful for the $82 million the BC NDP government invested these last few years
and the District’s plan was to close us and split up our school community in to two or three groups, and send them to various other local schools, some of which were less seismically safe than Dixon. Thankfully that day our school board trustees were brave, (3/6)
For months, families in our school community fought alongside parents at other schools, to keep our schools open. One of those amazing parents was @KellyRichmondBC . Dixon was a fully-enrolled school, (2/6)
Four years ago today I attended a special meeting of the Richmond School Board to learn the fate of Dixon, the elementary school my children attended, and for which I was the Co-Chair of the PAC. #RichmondBC, #bcpoli#bced

#BCed Minister @Rob_Fleming calls the #BCTeacherShortage "largely a rural British Columbia problem" as if that's an excuse for inaction. He's also wrong. There are hundreds of "failure to fill" vacancies in the Lower Mainland every week. #bcpoli

"The result of the #BCteacherShortage is an unprecedented number of unqualified and non-certified adults teaching in #bced classrooms. That’s unacceptable and we wouldn’t tolerate it in other professions". Here's @TeriMooring on state of talks.

Very disturbing that a vulnerable student was sent alone to the hospital and parents weren't immediately notified regardless if there was confusion. Hoping this student makes a speedy recovery. #RichmondBC

Today, anti-SOGI, anti-choice BC Liberal children and families critic @LaurieThroness called public school parents less educated. Once again showing his profound ignorance. @BCCPAC#bced https://t.co/20Wg5eZYTH
The Richmond School District is looking for feedback on several proposed school boundary revisions. Please visit our engagement website and provide your input by November 15. https://t.co/oh11D7z8P9 #SD38#RichmondBC

#chilliwack parents being told that if they want to keep their special needs students home for the rest of the week that is an option. #bced It is the govt job to provide education!!! We need more EAs!!!
Does @Rob_Fleming know what's been proposed at the bargaining table? Are his staff keeping him briefed? Why does he keep saying the rollover/2+2+2 was offered at the bargaining table when it doesn't sound like it was, according to those actually at the table? Confusing. #bced
To the teachers who saved my life: you inspired this poem.
Though there are many challenges & changes in education, I am so proud of the staff who work tirelessly through.
You shape lives in & out of classrooms - this is for you. #ThankYouTeachers#BackToSchool#CutsHurtKids
