🇺🇸 The CIA officer allegedly caught up in a bizarre $40 million gold bars scheme wasn't just any bureaucrat.

He worked on one of the Pentagon's most secretive nuclear submarine programs.

David Rush, who allegedly convinced the agency to send him millions in gold bars, served as a liaison to the military's highly classified submarine operations.

That role put him in direct communication with the Navy's director of submarines, the official overseeing the next generation of Columbia-class nuclear subs.

🇨🇳🇮🇷 The Iran war has done something no climate summit ever could:

It’s convinced governments worldwide that relying on oil from the Middle East is a vulnerability they can no longer afford

Problem is, every alternative leads straight through Beijing

Chinese companies dominate solar panels, high-voltage cables, transformers, grid batteries, the software that manages energy flows

Not to mention, nearly every rare earth metal needed to build any of it

A researcher at Trivium China put it simply:

"You're not going to compete with China at this point.”

Washington started a war to weaken Iran and reassert dominance over the world's most important energy corridor

But the immediate winner appears to be the country that spent the last two decades building every alternative to it

America disrupted the old energy order, but China is firmly in the driver’s seat when it comes to the future of energy

And this war just made every country on earth acutely aware of this

🇫🇷 Macron insists there’s no real stability unless Iran’s nuclear programs, destabilizing proxies, the Strait of Hormuz, and Lebanon’s sovereignty are all fixed together.

That’s a tall order, but it’s also a way to stop the West from papering over one problem while another explodes.

Also, France and the UK are launching a strictly defensive, multinational mission to keep ships moving through the strait.
