@Castellani2014 Is standing pat ever okay though? I just don’t understand materially what this team thinks it is after selling a starting pitcher and doing nothing else? Is the plan just that there really is no plan at this point?
@wrhiv_72 If part of your argument is SH can’t be trusted selling assets to make this team better in the future then surely he can’t be trusted trying to buy to make them better? Also if you want guys who can help now you have to give up real stuff, namely Skubal
@FueledByMotown If he’s the only one negotiating in good faith and can’t get anything done maybe that’s just a by-word for being bad at his job.. can’t say he tried real hard but got nothing from it this ain’t pre-school
@Section344Lions It wasn’t horrible, but the problem with moving futures is not knowing what that future looks like. So now you have a WR behind two highly paid WRs and soon to be acc. To team highly paid RB and TE. But how would we all feel now if that future 3rd was a safety or CB for this team
@kevin_hls Is it enough that he is just trying hard? If I don’t get a project done on time but I tell my boss I tried real hard tho, is that supposed to be enough? If none of these deals materialize and #Pistons are left in the cold will still be a failure if an offseason.
@Miggysbat Problem is tigers don’t have many good players. Which aren’t worth much. Sometimes you have to move a good player to get anything back, can’t do that moving bad players. A comp pick is just saying we might have a contributed in 2032..
@Castellani2014 The problem is it’s another part of a repeating pattern of bringing in guys that are either right at the cliff and then fall off it when they get here or are old and get injured and we never even see them play. Injuries are never an FO’s fault but the patterns are
@Castellani2014 Chris, When a team is this far from expectation, people start to talk selling and trades. As a cas viewer, I’m unsure how things go from here. How close are we to fire sale time, what does that look like for this team? Obvi Skubal is the big name, what about Tork, Keith, etc?
@TBrandon84 If you like the reaction to this go find his reactions some of the crazy reaches on TE’s and QB’s later on.. this move probably doesn’t look as crazy with the context of the rest of the night.
@MC3Whodat@AtoZ_Payton If they’re both due roughly the same amount what will it matter signing Gibbs before Bijan? To save 500k per year? Who else is out there to radically reset the RB market? Feels like again the team is outbidding itself..
@JimCosta_ The Calvin situation was a thing because he refused to give the money back and it was drawn out into arbitration. Nothing here says Frank is/was mad or upset about any of it. Doesn’t feel like quite the same thing.
