And they won. Because of this, they remain a dominant team and within reach of a World Cup victory. There is power in a union and strength in unity. #Matildas#TillitsDone#FIFAWWC
As we get ready to cheer the @TheMatildas to another victory tonight, it’s important to talk about how they got here.
Back in 2015, while negotiating a new collective agreement, the players demanded equal pay and prize money and better conditions.
But they didn’t just ask nicely, they used their power as workers and took industrial action, including refusing to board a plane to the US to play in a friendly match.
THE RESULTS ARE IN! 🚨🚨
85% of eligible QR members returned a vote, with 91% voting to take industrial action.
This massive result demonstrates that workers won't accept an offer that sees them go backwards and will use their collective power to fight for better.
A major announcement today with the Palaszczuk Government committing to full safety screens and police on buses to keep our members safe.
Thanks @MarkBaileyMP for working with us on this critical issue.

Back in Gladstone for Cabinet and very happy to run into a few @RTBUnion members!
Rail is the backbone of industry across this region - thanks for all your hard work.
Pacific National Coal has just provided its workforce notice that they plan to lock them out commencing on 19th of April.
We are aware and we are sending out communications this evening.
This form of industrial bastardry will not be tolerated.
For people who work in our industries - this budget is a big fat dud.
All we got was a grab bag of half-promises, from a government with no record of delivery, and vote-buying measures dressed up as a plan, on the eve of an election.
Transport workers deserve better.
We call on the Federal and Qld Government to prioritise public transport workers for the critical role they play and give them access to the vaccine as soon as possible.

"If you need to stop work and isolate you should get your normal pay and the government should reimburse businesses that can't afford to pay that," says ACTU president Michele O'Neil. Do you have a question about paid pandemic leave? | @SBSNews#QandA https://t.co/JT9xu9P4Bf
Many Queensland workers will be hurt by another cut to penalty rates from 1 July 2020 but LNP MP Warren Entsch will be just fine. How many times do we have to go through this ... you can't cut wages and grow your economy. #NoPenaltyRateCuts@unionsaustralia
We'll come to the table to meet with the government and employers but let's be clear - To get through this crisis Australia needs more secure jobs with rights.

We're making a head start on the Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3A extension from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads. By starting the $709 million project last week, we're paving the way for major works to start after the construction contract's awarded in the final quarter of the year.
Don't touch.
Pedestrian crossings in some high-use areas across Queensland will be automated—meaning we won't have to touch the button to get the green walk signal anymore. Thanks for helping us #flattenthecurve and remember if you can to #stayhomestaysafe
