@TimSweeneyEpic It's a win for the winners, not everyone. The logical brain was the moat before. Ai is reshaping it so that it's a different skill that excells. I'm not an artist for a reason. Devs are anxious because they are hoping that when the dust settles they are still the experts.
@itemgatestudios It's just so that it filters up in the future when it's on sale. I have literally hundreds of games in my backlog so buying on release is hardly ever something I've done.
@Tech_girl It automates the hours we used to spend reading docs, searching blogs, refreshing syntax, looking for a silly mistake, trying a new design pattern and picking the wrong one, or just getting stuck. Still takes time but a different kind.
@SakshiSugandhi Are you just free balling the commits then? I do it from vscode and click through each file to see the changes. Terminal might be "cool" but will lead you to cut corners when scrolling and comparing the code is needed.
@ThePrimeagen Because I used to be finding the context manually and dropping it in. Now I just vaguely remember and set it off, and find out it's doing (sometimes useful) stuff like inspecting the contents of the release build and updating auto-generated files as well as the task.
@hilbertspaess If they really thought they could build something so ultra powerful that it will eat the world, why do it in public and give access? They could have done it stealth and taken it all.
@CodeWithTamara Things still take the same time for me. I have just become more ambitious with the scope and can build and architect things how I wanted to without hitting roadblocks. They will change for certain classes of code though.
@AndrewHart I think he is correct. I don't see the big revelation between 25 and 26. I've let it write all my code since early 23. I'm still keeping a close eye on it but it doesn't make sense to do the syntax level construction.
@unclebobmartin Why do it on a phone call then? Just give me a deterministic booking form on the website. We had calendly before jippity rocked up. Press 1 to... is the punishment for living like it's 30 years ago haha. The phone is only for when it needs a human fix.
@ProfSteveKeen Except my calculator (gpt5.1) has spent the day making things up and getting them badly wrong. Pressing buttons on a real calculator, Im sure that if it turns out to be wrong, it was my mistake. Every conversation about ai seems to have the caveat *assuming ai gets reliable soon.
@WordPress Not everyone is following this, I've spoken to people that are clueless about the drama. Messing around with nonsensical content in the login experience just makes you look hacked. This is the form where you're asking them to trust you with their password!
@wpbakery@SigriddK This is a terrible move which I hope gets reverted soon! These sites have been long since built for clients and commitments have been made. You should implement things for new customers not existing ones where you have already set the expectation.
@ThePrimeagen Something that I've not seen anyone say, after pouring through all the tweets for this event, is the wptavern article which has a screen from the slack channel, where matt is openly contemplating stealing any and all gpl for inclusion in core: https://t.co/ZeNHs3JZvx
