@billtrocchi@AndyStaples In Texas HS football, schools play 10 regular season games and then have to win 6 playoff games to win state. It’s widely regarded as the best championship tournament in HS sports.
2025 24-Team CFP - Regions:
Similar to March Madness, there are 4 of each seed. Schools assigned to closest Quarterfinal Bowl if possible. Avoid 1st and 2nd round rematches, and bump seeds if needed.
@MattHayesCFB Why would you make a top 24 bracket based on post Championship week? To be accurate, rankings should be from the last regular season poll.
@TheHerdBros For: the top 25 actually means something for the first time ever. #25 is the first team out.
Against: The byes will still be determined in a subjective fashion - 8, 16 or 32 would be more fair.
@PeterBurnsESPN When CFB moved to 4 power conferences, it made no sense to move away from a 4-team playoff. Each conference should have held a 4-team tournament to determine its champion. The result: a 16-team playoff.
@PeterBurnsESPN Super conferences without divisions, combined with a 12-team playoff, killed CFB. 24 teams and no CCGs will improve the game from where it currently sits. The entire top 25 will actually mean something now.
Mike Macdonald saw Jadarian Price doing kick return drills and walked over, tapped him on the shoulder and said,
“One’s enough, JD.”
Then escorted him to the sideline to wait for the next drill. Teams always trying to strike the balance of getting work in while avoiding injury
I see that #Seahawks fans are split. Some like it, some love it, and some hate it. I didn't understand it until I researched his characteristics:
Humility, resiliency, a strong sense of selflessness, maturity, a strong work ethic, and loyalty.
He has been described by his teammates as quiet, selfless, resilient, team-first, a brotherhood builder, great in the locker room, an energy guy, positive, and with academic discipline.
HC Mike Macdonald and general manager John Schneider both have prioritized the culture as a brotherhood of tough, loyal, high-effort guys who elevate the locker room.
This is what matters to both of them, what matters to me, and I hope you as well, because it seems Price is the right guy for our locker room and our organization!
#Seahawks Jadarian Price on why he stayed at Notre Dame for 4 years and why he never left, via Seattle Sports:
"Because Notre Dame was the best decision of my life, I wanted to finish my degree, compete for a championship, and prove to myself that I was the best running back and player in college football. I wanted to challenge myself and look at where I am right now."
On the NIL and the difficult discussions to move on:
"Yeah, after the national championship. You get multiple calls. I'm from Texas, coming back home. Like I could come back home closer to family. North Carolina with [Bill] Belichick, multiple others. When my mom heard the offers that they were giving me upfront, she just came to tears, "Is this really real?" I felt some type of way when I had to tell her that I have a plan, I want to stay at Notre Dame, even though I made half that life-changing money. I feel that plan is working."
Says "Yes, sir" at the end of the conversation
Why the #Seahawks drafted Jadarian Price in the 1st round:
It was Price’s why--his cancer-survivor mom.
Plus the RB’s loyalty staying all his college years at Notre Dame as a backup to Jeremiyah Love, turning down big 💰 to transfer: https://t.co/n9c6LmCQVo @thenewstribune
