Great to see this moving forward! ECV and SJV residents did a lot of advocacy to get this off the ground. We need to continue pushing so that this effort reaches all agricultural communities!
A pesticide notification system pilot project is finally coming to #RiversideCounty!
As part of the AB 617 process last year, #EasternCoachellaValley residents advocated for a pilot project in this agricultural region despite the challenges presented to them. @CA_Pesticides
🧵1/ All jurisdictions in CA must satisfy Housing Element (HE) law by engaging the public to analyze housing needs & adopt policies/programs to address disparities in access to opportunity.
Residents warned @RivCoNow that its HE was inadequate. @California_HCD agrees. ⬇️
Amazing! Congratulations @Ryan_Gaia. I’ve enjoyed working with you and learning from you for the past few years. Your work, knowledge, and genuine dedication to protecting residents in the ECV and elsewhere is so appreciated!

Air pollution is a chronic problem in California's San Joaquin Valley. But it is now reaching levels unlike any previously seen.
With no measurable rainfall in weeks and little chance of rain in the forecast, there is no end in sight. @cres_guez reports https://t.co/X4jlaXxpAg
We ask #RiversideCounty BOS to postpone the approval of the housing & safety element tomorrow & prioritize REAL housing policy solutions.
Many residents in the ECV live in uninhabitable living conditions due to the substandard and limited housing options in the region.
#RiversideCounty released a draft of the 6th Cycle Housing Element update for public review at the SAME time it submitted that same draft for review to the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD).
That is unacceptable. We need community-led #HousingForAll NOW!
We have a new Director! Please join us in welcoming and congratulating Brandon Dawson as the new head of Sierra Club CA. Read our press release and learn more about Brandon here: https://t.co/inOqHOklVI
🥵It's hot.
🚰Water is scarce.
🔥Wildfires are back.
How do we protect from further disaster in California? Community-driven partnerships and physical infrastructure are needed right now to support response and recovery from compounding threats.

Residents of the #EasternCoachellaValley are ready to advocate for an equitable and balanced budget that can benefit disadvantaged rural #enviromentaljustice communities.
Invest in ECV! 🙌🏽
This is why we’re committed to raising these issues over and over again. We live in the community and see and feel all the impacts. This is what we should be focusing all of our efforts on and believe residents. @SouthCoastAQMD@AirResources
“Mira todo el tierregal, beka, no se quita.” This is what my mom told me while we were driving through Thermal today. It’s been really windy here and all the Ag work leads to really bad air quality in the region. This is happening next to homes, MHPs and next to schools.
