@Jean_Chabeuil I hope France will wake up and stay strong against the barbarian invasion. Will preserve the beautiful culture and heritage that we all admire. And I hope all civilized world will unite
@Jean_Chabeuil I am Russian, and France is not my enemy. Unfortunately Russia is occupied by KGB gang, which turned back from a civilized world. And Instead of helping Europe to overcome the darkest time, my country brings the darkest time.

The way people are suddenly shitting themselves about AI is the way they should have been shitting themselves about climate change for the last 40’years.

North America has lost nearly 3 billion breeding birds since 1970 — 700 million of which were grassland birds. Since 1970, grassland bird populations have fallen by 43%
Latest paper on Svalbard polar bears. Take home: "sea-ice loss exerts an energetic constraint on denning females, forcing them to depart from dens early, which jeopardizes their cubs, ultimately reducing maternal fitness." Open access paper. https://t.co/B2B4CiThM8
Himalayan glaciers are melting at an alarming rate due to climate change. If they disappeared entirely, the result would be a profound water, food, and security crisis affecting 2 billion people. The fallout would happen in two distinct phases:
Phase 1: The Melt
Before the ice vanishes, rapid melting will cause massive volatility. We will see frequent glacial lake outbursts flooding downstream towns, widespread landslides destroying key infrastructure, and heavy silt crippling vital hydropower dams.
Phase 2: The Aftermath
Once the glaciers are gone, the regional water tower runs dry. Major rivers will lose up to two-thirds of their dry-season flow, triggering immediate drinking water shortages, a collapse in agricultural yields, and widespread power grid failures.
This will inevitably force mass migrations and escalate geopolitical tensions over remaining water rights.
Ultimately, the Himalayas are a global life-support system.
Combating climate change to preserve them is a matter of international security.
@volcaholic1 Let’s say it’s just a glimps of the future events. Humanity can’t comprehend the power that we have triggered. The melting glaciers in Himalayans will wash out all the population nearby and this will fasten the rise of the level of the ocean globally
Human body unable to adapt as Scientists detect a big shift in human blood as atmospheric CO2 rises
Blood bicarbonate levels have climbed about 7% since 1999, while calcium and phosphorus have declined—changes that closely track increasing atmospheric CO2
