Today, because I'm not at work, I want to spend more time learning about Jev and some use cases I am thinking about, try fine tune a local SLM and spend time improving my local agent setup. Need to get a life.
The Jev model by TypeSafe is really nice. Been playing around with it since yesterday.
A lot of the LLM based system components I build take some kind of unstructured input and produce structured output. That pattern takes work with LLMs and making them more deterministic is a tough engineering problem.
A good amount of what I want to build appears to be suited to a model like Jev. The speed and price are pretty amazing.
I've tried a bunch of tools to manage local settings like dotfiles. Nix has been the best so far https://t.co/5NyXuHrUay.
One thing I've started to manage that way is my agent skills. I use a lot of different coding agents for some reason and I prefer managing skills myself vs `npm install`ing them.
This is how I'm doing this: https://t.co/irpiGXMpaI
It's a nix plugin that lets me manage all my agent skills in one place and puts them into the various coding agent skills locations.
It lets me vendor public skills giving me a chance to review them before I use them and supports easy auto updates. It provides security scans against skills using the Cisco scanner.
A setup skill is included so if you'd like to try it you can ask an agent to set it up for you by pointing it at the repo.
When I first started using computers, seeing this many ads meant you needed to run antivirus, even though there was a high probability it would just install more viruses.
