this is such a random thread but this plot line has genuinely bothered me since it first came out, especially bc the hunter died, jeremy got the mark, elena hallucinates & stabs jeremy in the neck but his gilbert ring still brings him back, even though he has the hunters mark??

I genuinely don’t understand the hunters mark plot line in tvd s4 when it comes to jeremy.. this boy has been wearing his gilbert ring since season 2, has killed vampires & hybrids, yet when he see’s the hunters mark and realizes why he’s now considered part of the ‘supernatural’

I guess my biggest question is how can jeremy technically be apart of the supernatural bc he’s a hunter, but the mark never showed up before? and the gilbert ring still worked on him after he first gets the mark?? but it doesn’t later when he dies???
