@XX403XXXXXXX@PatriotsOfMars@RedEaglePatriot Losing the trifecta is the expectation. It’s very hard to change that, as seen in 2006,2010,2014,2018, etc, but dems nearly held everything in 2022. That’s something that we will most likely not see for the gop this year
@XX403XXXXXXX@RedEaglePatriot The lost the house by a few thousand votes nationwide, despite the national environment being in the gop’s favor. If you flipped just a few votes over a dozen close races, dems would’ve held the house, along with expanding their senate majority and winning key races.
@NickyScatz No. It’s a swing state for presidential elections, not statewide races for local office. They’re competitive for sure but one side tends to squeek out a win every time
@RedEaglePatriot This can mean a lot of things unfortunately and they can all be true. Either Paxton was a bad candidate to begin with, or polling is just off. People should not get comfortable with trump’s 14 point win. Remember, Harris was an awful candidate.
@RedEaglePatriot Biden didn’t win the state, but he had the best performance for a democratic presidential candidate in TX since LBJ. Small things like these absolutely matter. Lmk when a republican presidential candidate comes that close to winning a big blue state like NY or CA
@RedEaglePatriot Why do you keep using these numbers to make a point. Theses numbers will not be the same in November. Harris being a bad candidate doesn’t make every other dem in TX unelectable
@Father_McCarthy@FredPolitics 46% as an incumbent in a year where the republican presidential candidate carries the state by nearly 12 points. Brown lost because Ohio was too red, not because he was universally hated. Moreno only got 50%, only 4% more than what the gop got in 2018.
@FredPolitics@Father_McCarthy Nailed it. How do people not realize this. Brown has immense crossover support throughout his career even until the end in 2024
@ChristianHeiens Republicans shoot themselves in the foot. They had 14 seats in 2017, but leftward trends in CA split the gop delegation in half. Even for prop 50, 3/5 gop held districts that were going to be gerrymandered voted in favor of prop 50. Voters in CA are just fed up with the gop brand
@ChristianHeiens That’s because republicans are geographically disadvantaged in CA. Most of them live in densely populated blue areas but they aren’t clustered close to each other to make solid red districts. There used to be a few districts like that in southern CA until the 2018 blue wave came
@1980Khoa Beto lost by 2 points against an incumbent. Cornyn would win two years later by 9 points, a larger margin than Cruz’s but a substantially smaller margin than his previous run for reelection in 2014.
@MikeRogersForMI Yeah but you also lost on the same ballot. Doesn’t matter if trump won, because you don’t. Obviously you can’t appeal to the the same voters that put trump in the White House. If yall did, yall would be sitting on a 57 senate majority right now.
