@Raxistaicho2 I guess my question is more along the lines of how Fodlan, even banded together, could do anything that mattered in defense, but the mountain range is a good point. Unless we're at the invention of the fighter jet, mountains are still gonna be a problem.
@CatFriend221@mickeyy909@freeallpenguins it would not matter which of the two actually happened, and there is value in deciding that the made up story is the reality of it." And that's where this book loses me.
Choosing fiction in an effort to cope *is* lying.
@CatFriend221@mickeyy909@freeallpenguins We in the real world understand Pi doesn't exist, the story isn't trying to change our worldview because this guy actually walked the earth, the way that a holy book would. The moral statement of the book is "if you were presented with both of these stories,
@mickeyy909@freeallpenguins To be clear, this is different than when we tell stories. Allegories in clear fiction exist to say something about our world, they're moral statements dressed in a way that people will want to hear. Pi is making the statement that the tiger story *is* reality, or might as well be
@mickeyy909@freeallpenguins But beauty is only worth something to the degree that it is true. What good is it to lavish in how beautiful the world *isn't*? What Pi told those men is that he didn't find a man-eating island, he didn't end up on a raft with a tiger, and he didn't learn to coexist with it.
@satansnightowl7@blarghblargh99@S0NDER1NG I didn't even hate the scene, but you have to see how this response directly contradicts any notion that the scene's merit hinges on a wealth of understanding rather than a personal ability to land the tone it's trying to set.
@mickeyy909@freeallpenguins I guess that's why Pi never stuck with me. It didn't feel like a choice- the existence of the chef story made it so obvious that's what really happened that it made the tiger story meaningless filler.
@Br0nxBlogger@TheDougFiles The judge, jury, Nikki, the lawyer themself, and all witnesses are now stuck in super hell for the rest of the lawyer's life as new entities take over their bodies to emphasize Nikki's innocence.
@Droub__ I'm not even mad about her inclusion really, I don't think there IS a character that would make for a satisfying anniversary unit.
That said, I never got why people get so excited about an instrument.
@Online_Loner@_lunaceleste__ So the thing is that Crimson Flower specifically was rushed, yes. But Crimson Flower =/= Black Eagles.
The first route the devs made, and the one they want players to experience first, is Silver Snow. The dual in the tower is Edelgard's reunion scene, not the CF equivalent.
@fetwtconfession That sounds cool and all, but it also sounds like something that would exponentially increase the development time of the game. Idk how Valentia does it to be fair.
@PurrpleKats You mean Dedue's paralogue? If so, they were there actively working against the Faerghus army to save the Duscur rebels' lives, because the army was going to wipe them out otherwise.
I won't try to argue it's *realistic* for even a second, but it's in line with their motivation.
