“This free love that we have from Jesus and with the desire to walk, let's walk in hope. Let's rediscover our roots and keep moving forward without fear. Don't be afraid."
- His Holiness Pope Francis in his message during the Evening Vigil at Campo da Graça (Parque Tejo)
“Have you understood all these things?” They said to him, “Yes.” And he said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house, who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.”
Today’s Gospel: Matthew 13:44-53
Jesus said to his disciples: “The Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field, which a person finds and hides again, and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field."
Matthew 13:44-46
“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

A reflection on Matthew 10:34–11:1

There is wisdom in everything that happens—even in God’s silence. God never sits idly. He is always at work, whether or not we see it. God’s presence in our lives isn’t based on our feelings but on his faithfulness.
In every season of life, ask, "What is God teaching me?”
If Jesus were to come today, we too would tremble in fear and plead with Him to spare us, just as the demons did in today’s Gospel.
Hell is indeed to be feared, but more than this, an authentic Christian fears being separated from God.

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Revelation 21:4
Jesus’ inclusivity is not equal to tolerance. When He called and welcomed the sinners and the outcast, he led them to repentance and to a restored life.
This is also God’s invitation to us today: to run to Him, whose arms are wide open and whose love heals and never runs cold.
