President Biden told reporters traveling with him that he gave the order to shoot down the Chinese spy balloon on Wednesday.

“I told them to shoot it down – on Wednesday,” Biden said in brief comments. “They said to me, ‘Let’s wait ‘til the safest place to do it.’”
