Exploring Key Conversations around Climate Resilience and Financial Inclusion in the agriculture sector at the Symposium on Digital Market and Financial Spaces, convened by @WorldVisionUg
We had the opportunity to share with farmers on why Agriculture Insurance is becoming increasingly important.
#AgricultureInsurance is more than a financial product it is a resilience tool. It helps farmers recover from unexpected losses, protects investments made throughout the season, improves access to finance, and gives producers the confidence to continue investing in agriculture despite growing climate risks.
As digital solutions continue to reshape agriculture, they also present an opportunity to make insurance more accessible, more efficient, and more inclusive for farmers across the country.
We appreciate @WorldVisionUg
for creating this platform for meaningful dialogue on building a more inclusive and resilient agricultural sector through innovation, partnerships, and risk management.

Looking back at the 2026 @AIOSocialMedia Confrence in Cairo 🌍
Agriculture insurance took centre stage at #AIO2026, as leaders from across Africa gathered under the theme "Insurance as an Enabler of Economic Growth for All."
The discussions reinforced a shared reality;-while agriculture remains the backbone of African economies, climate risk and low insurance penetration continue to limit its full potential.
We were proud that @AgroConsortium contributed to these powerful conversations.
We joined a high-level panel on "Innovative Insurance Solutions for Agricultural Growth in Africa." sharing Uganda’s practical experience under the Uganda Agriculture Insurance Scheme (UAIS), focusing on what it takes to move from design to a functioning, scalable system that farmers trust and use.
From Uganda’s implementation journey, three lessons stood out:
🌱 Trust is built at the point of delivery. Agriculture insurance only becomes meaningful when farmers consistently experience timely communication, transparent processes, and credible claims handling through a coordinated implementation structure.
🤝 Scale depends on embedding, not reinventing systems. In Uganda, the most effective distribution has come through integration with existing ecosystems banks, SACCOs, cooperatives, aggregators, and value chain actors already working with farmers.
📊 Systems matter as much as products. Moving toward national-scale agriculture insurance requires strong policy frameworks, reliable climate and agricultural data systems, coordinated public-private action, sustainable financing, and continuous institutional learning.
What stood out most in Cairo was the convergence of thinking across countries;- agriculture insurance is no longer viewed in isolation, but as part of broader resilience and food security systems.
As AIC, we remain committed to contributing Uganda’s implementation experience to these continental dialogues, while working closely with the Government of Uganda, insurers, development partners, and ecosystem partners to expand access to inclusive and scalable agriculture insurance solutions.
We also acknowledge the collaboration with @UNDP_SDGFinance Insurance and Risk Finance Facility (IRFF), whose support continues to strengthen evidence, innovation, and learning within Uganda’s agriculture insurance ecosystem.
📸Swipe through for highlights from Cairo;- an inspiring week of dialogue, learning, and collaboration shaping the future of insurance in Africa.🌍

The four children that don’t resemble Kafero are his actual children while some of those that truly resemble him aren’t his. The DNA tests should be redone.
