What a special time I had in Grolloo this last week… so much inspiration from professors and friends, so many wonderful people, and so much beautiful music ❤️ This festival will hold a special place in my heart forever #grolloo#flute
I’m delighted to say that I won the over-19’s woodwind category at the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru! @eisteddfod 🥇❤️ A huge TY to my accompanist, Tim Stuart, & a posthumous TY to Grace Williams for writing her flute Sonatina! Even if she thought it’s “hardly worth performing”🤭
Also, myself and a friend were travelling to Madrid on the 23rd (4th picture)… the same day that almost all trains from Valencia to Madrid were cancelled due to track problems!! 🫣Thank goodness we made it, even if it took 8 hours in the end
And a few weeks ago, I had the joy of attending @fimvalencia 2023, playing wonderful music with fantastic colleagues and working with some of the world’s most incredible flute professors! ❤️🎶 After the initial culture-shock, it was one of the best weeks of my life 🪈🦐🥘 (1/2)
(2/2) But the experience has definitely made me realise I need to work on my Spanish skills - A2-level was barely helping me hold a conversation… 😅 But the best way to learn is to immerse oneself in the culture, and that I sure did. I’d go back in a heartbeat 😍❤️
This @BBCYoungMus final. Is. INSANE. 🤯 I do not envy this jury.
For as much as I worry about the culture surrounding competitions, seeing such incredibly talented, poised, kind kids makes me feel so very hopeful about music and about the world. ♥️ #BBCYoungMusician
Why is @BBCYoungMus on BBC4? Why not BBC1 or BBC2? Think of the number of young people (and slightly older people) who might stumble upon it and be inspired. Next year maybe... #bbcyoungmusician
Absolutely rooting tonight for Sofía in the @BBCYoungMus final!! I reckon we could possibly have a flautist (and an INCREDIBLE one!) as an overall winner for the first time ever… 🤩
A pinch-me moment today to play for the living legend that is Emmanuel Pahud - never did I ever think I’d have such a privilege. I learned so much in those 35 minutes 😱🤩 And a big thank you to our head of woodwind Fraser for the photo!!
