Spoilers for Obsession:
EXACTLY!! Nikki had an awakening that she wanted better for her life for herself, she was going to move to a big city and find love and her story for her book. Once Bear heard he was loosing her forever, he ENTRAPPED HER.
This scene was pure comedy and became one of the most iconic scenes from season 2 of Euphoria. But underneath the humor, I honestly think the scene was quietly showing how out of touch Cassie was when it came to fashion, identity, and presentation.
Cassie was obviously extremely beautiful, but she never really had Maddy’s natural understanding of style, confidence, or image. You can literally see Cassie desperately trying different outfits one after another like she’s throwing random ideas at the wall hoping something finally works, which is exactly why the Oklahoma outfit became so unintentionally ridiculous.
And when Cassie asks Maddy if the outfit looks good, Maddy almost looks offended by the question because to Maddy the answer is painfully obvious. Maddy was always the true fashion icon between them, meanwhile Cassie was constantly trying to imitate aesthetics and identities she didn’t fully understand herself.
That’s honestly what makes the scene funny and sad at the same time because Cassie wasn’t just searching for an outfit, she was searching for an identity and a version of herself that felt worthy enough. #euphoria
When I came out to my Mother as Asexual. She screamed at me, saying, "You don't go through life without sex." Then she put me into therapy, where the therapist gave me homework to look for apartments to get out of that toxic environment. 💖
