The exact same thing happened to me last week. If you receive a call like this, please don't give them any personal information and always call the official customer care of the courier service they've mentioned to verify what they've said.

New kind of Scam in the market: I received a call in the morning from a person claiming to be from FedEx. He asked if I had used FedEx to send a courier to Taiwan. I replied "no why would I send something to Taiwan." He then mentioned that someone is misusing my Aadhar card number to send couriers from India to Taiwan, containing illegal items such as MDMA, LSD, etc. I asked, "Okay, now what should I do?" He suggested connecting my call to the cybercrime unit, and then I could directly complain to fix this. He transferred my call to a 'cybercrime police officer' who stated that they needed some of my bank details to figure out if my account was the one being misused. At that moment, I realized it was a sophisticated scam call. I googled and found a case of a woman in Bangalore who was duped of 48 lakhs by the same Taiwan scam. I was relieved that I had identified the scam and saved 4000rs that is there in my bank account. Beware!
