After working so tirelessly to slash the country’s budget for sport, it’s absolutely amazing that this fella still has the guts to make a social media post celebrating the country’s baseball team qualifying for the World Baseball Classic.
Shameless politician.
Lin Yu-Ting was born a woman. She has been female since birth. She is participating in the boxing tournament at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 with her strength and has complied with all applicable medical regulations set by the Paris 2024 Boxing Unit, which have been consistently applied throughout all qualification events.
Lin Yu-Ting is a victim of the sudden and arbitrary decision by the IBA. Up to now, the IBA has not provided any evidence. The IBA should establish a legitimate and clear gender testing procedure, instead of repeatedly and baselessly claiming that “Taiwan is a part of China.”
This cannot erase the fact that Lin Yu-Ting represents Taiwan as a female athlete.
We reiterate that everyone has the right to participate in sports without discrimination. Moreover, anyone who supports the rights of female athletes should stand against this bullying behavior.
The attack on Lin Yu-Ting is a form of international bullying. But she never gives up, and she has reached the final despite the eligibility dispute.
“The more we’re bullied, the stronger we become.”
We, the Taiwanese people, will always stand with her and be her strongest support. 💪
I just want to ask, how can Taiwan, a country that cannot even have its name or image appear on the field, possibly persuade its way through multiple levels of international organizations to send a MAN to compete in a women's competition?
Being famous doesn’t mean you’re immune to fake news. Surfing on the internet doesn’t mean you’re close to the truth.
Our boxer has been a girl since birth. She’ll keep rocking the ring.
When I met boxer Lin Yu-ting 林郁婷, I saw an athlete who is fearless in the face of challenges, whether they come from inside or outside the ring.
Today, when she represents #Taiwan on the Olympic stage, we will be behind her & all the Taiwanese Olympians making us proud.
