Female founders secured only 2% of venture capital in the U.S. in 2021, the smallest share since 2016 and a sign that efforts to diversify the famously male-dominated industry are struggling (via @bbgEquality) https://t.co/3NUXrX7nrP
3/Nope. The top developers, writers, sales executives, product people, marketers, investing, finance executives, etc. will be able to say the following to big companies:
"I am only looking for job opportunities that allow me to work from home."
That's it. Done. Employees win.
1/I’ve embraced remote work completely like all tech folks have been forced too, & I’m afraid & inspired that the gains are so significant for employees that many/most will not go back to offices
This is going to lead to a crazy, competitive chess board for funds & startups.
It's tough breaking into VC. Having gone through the process myself, I want to support aspiring VCs make it in. I'll start by sharing my three favorite #VC job posting newsletters: @AllRaise@johnmgannon (https://t.co/g166A1ictZ) @nextgenvcs. My advice: add yourself.
An important story by @amberbburton@francescamarief: To establish trust, managers should demonstrate that they understand the disparity of how Covid-19 is affecting the Black community and Black women #wsjwomenin

It was exciting to have @MatthewACherry join us to discuss Hair Love today! I especially appreciated your answers to my questions on the mom’s characterisation. Looking forward to Young Love and seeing more of your work! 🖤
@businessinsider The country club and driving range were historically considered great places to do business. But with women and people of colour holding more and more senior positions in the workplace, golf (which remains almost exclusively white and male) lacks appeal.
@businessinsider This guy missed the mark by excluding:
1. The lack of diversity and inclusion at country clubs
2. The environmental repercussions of running a golf course (water usage, wildlife etc.)
Nothing about golf is inviting to the modern consumer.
It was wonderful speaking at @USConsulateCT / @educationusa’s Predeparture Orientation today! We sent-off the next generation of South Africans at U.S. universities 🇿🇦🇺🇸
If you’re thinking of studying in the U.S., the EducationUSA college fair is a great start.
"We need to stop framing mothers’ workplace woes as an issue of “balance,” and start talking about how men’s domestic negligence makes it so hard for us to succeed."
“So let’s stop saying that it’s motherhood that holds up women’s careers; it’s not the institution of parenthood that makes advancing at work difficult. It’s not our kids. It’s that there’s no chance of equality at work while there’s inequality at home.”
I also had the opportunity to sit with @AllanGrayOrbis Foundation talent and peers from Duke, Harvard, Columbia and Stanford to discuss how the Foundation can offer more comprehensive support for international fellows. The institutional support is encouraging.
After a weekend of educational workshops, inspiring talks and thought-provoking pitches, #AGOFjam2019 is a wrap! I’m so glad I got to make it after missing the last 3 years. I’ll miss being surrounded by so many innovators and high-impact entrepreneurs.
