There is something uniquely heartbreaking about Gen X.

They were raised by a generation that often believed children should be seen, not heard. A generation that taught them to toughen up, stay quiet, handle their own problems, and keep family issues behind closed doors.

Then they watched younger generations grow up with words they never had:

Trauma.
Emotional neglect.
Boundaries.
Gaslighting.
Healing.
Generational cycles.

Gen X got caught between two worlds.

Boomers said:
"That's life."
"Stop complaining."
"Be grateful."
"Toughen up."

So Gen X learned to survive.

They learned to bury pain instead of talking about it.
To handle everything alone.
To never ask for help.
To keep showing up no matter how exhausted they were.
To believe strength meant silence.

They became independent because nobody was coming.

They became emotionally guarded because vulnerability often came with consequences.

They became reliable, hardworking, and resilient because survival demanded it.

Then Millennials and Gen Z started asking questions Gen X had never been allowed to ask:

"Why did they treat you like that?"

"Why do you still tolerate it?"

"Why do you think suffering is normal?"

"Why are you carrying guilt that isn't yours?"

"Why are you defending people who hurt you?"

And for many Gen X adults, those questions hit harder than the original wounds.

Because they spent decades believing what happened was normal.

That everyone grew up that way.

That pain was just part of life.

That endurance was the same thing as healing.

But surviving something and healing from it are not the same thing.

You can build a career, raise a family, pay your bills, and still carry wounds you never had the chance to understand.

The tragedy of being the generation in the middle is that Gen X mastered the rules of an old world that told them to endure everything.

Then they lived long enough to watch the next generation reject those rules entirely.

And sometimes the hardest realization isn't what happened to you.

It's realizing that what you thought was strength may have been survival all along.

The reason the world is upset with Israel is because of the 700,000+ innocent Palestinians they've murdered.

It's not because they're Jewish.

Hope that helps.
